Mario has been chubby since he was created and he’s just as capable as any other character! Instead of seeing it as “shaming”, I think it’s awesome that they’re including a female character that totally kicks ass without her being sexualized! So what if she’s from a fitness game? Fat or not, fitness moves are healthy for you! It relaxes and strengthens the body! Just look at her:

When we moved into our house, I agreed with my wifey that we could turn this bathroom into an underwater Mario level. We’re still working on the bathroom, but here’s my contribution. This curtain is made out of tiny 1 inch squares matching the pixel design. Took me months to make, but it’s now so incredibly worth it!

So when getting the new Chromebook I wanted a new, snazzy bag for it. All of my bags are much too big and all. We looked at Best Buy and Target and didn’t really find anything appealing.
This is what she made for my Chromebook. If this isn’t amazing I don’t know what is! These were T-shirts from Target, now it’s my Chromebook bag. It’s T-shirts, fleece, and batting combined to just… OMFG IT’S SO COOL!
Nintendo Direct brought a lot of news today but nothing excited me more than Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. This right here is 2 of my favorite franchises crossing over in a game that we know nothing about. Is it a dungeon crawler grindfest? Is it a fighting game kind of thing? Is it a SRPG? WHAT WILL IT BE I DON’T KNOW BUT I WANT IT.

The most fun I have when going out in public is having some sort of geeky thing on. Today I was wearing my Yoshi earrings and went to pay some more money down on the couch my babe and I are getting. The guy ringing me up stopped and was like, “… are those Yoshi earrings?”
I smiled and was like, “Yep.”
So he gets his coworker and we all proceed to talk about the 3DS, Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, and just Nintendo in general.
It’s great when geekery leaks into the real world ^^
I’m not into Pokemon as much as I use to be, but I do have fond memories. Specifically of the original Pokemon. I wanted to make a clock depicting the starter Pokemon, because I’ve always liked these three :) Around the clock, for numbers, are pokeballs, and the clock itself is painted to look like a pokeball.
That crazy mirror I started? FINISHED! Here is a collage of the progress, from a couple of red squares to the end product. Man, oh man, this was a pain in the ass fun to make :)
Posting progress pictures as I go just because :) As I said before, I had to sketch the grid on the mirror with pencil, but now I’m painting in the pieces to create an 8-bit mario :) It’s more than halfway done now, I have to do the overalls and maybe touch up the red a bit more (the mirror is finished wood, so it takes a couple of coats of paint to get it to really stand out).
In random news I haven’t woodburned anything all day >.< Fortunately, I close tomorrow, so I should have time :)
