Cosplaying is for my Soul… not my Body (but damn I still looked cute)
So last night I started cleaning up my files (My computer is super clogged) and I came across some screen shots that were taken in June of 2012, I believe. Kinda made me start thinking.
Reblogging this because this was shared with me this morning and I think everyone should read it. It shows how cruel some people can be in regards to cosplay, but it also shows how great people can be in the end. Trigger warnings in regards to depression and how bad some people get, but again, I feel that it’s important to read because this is what bullying can make a person feel like. All those “har har go kill yourself” comments? People don’t seem to realize that they can really impact a person and make them feel bad enough to consider it. Fortunately, this girl, in the end, stood her ground and is stronger now.
At the end of the day words hurt, even if the bully is just some person you don’t know on the internet, because I know there’s some people who are supportive but seem to forget that not everyone is as strong as they are. "Laugh it off,“ and, "Ignore it,"and, "You don’t even know this guy don’t let it get to you,” and things like that. That’s all well and good but not everyone can just shrug stuff off that easily, and you shouldn’t make them feel like less of a person because “they can’t take it.”
Hell, I consider myself a pretty strong person, but even being called names bothered me. I didn’t just see the comments and chuckle to myself and respond by frying that chicken, I looked at it for a while, frowned about it, felt bad about it, the whole snazzy response thing didn’t happen instantly. And I know there are some confident folks who can just have a snappy comeback right away, but that doesn’t mean everyone can. At the end of the day, no one should be judged period, whether they can laugh it off and still be fabulous or not.
So this read is important, because it’s honest and it shows how bad bullying can get. It shows how she reacted, how badly it effected her, and how she turned it around.

Video Gaming's Latest Breakthrough Moment -
Queer representation in video games. Read on for an interview with the game creators and a video of the key scenes.
There are topics that mainstream video games rarely tackle, but lately, the list is getting shorter. It got shorter yet again last week. It happened in a PS3 game, or rather, in an expansion to a PS3 game from last year. It’s something I can’t not talk about. Spoilers for The Last of Us: Left Behind follow.
The defining moment of The Last of Us: Left Behind (which I really liked) wasn’t a death or a sacrifice, at least not for me—it was a kiss. Just a kiss, between two teenagers who happen to be surviving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and who also happen to be young women.
ELLIE AND RILEY WERE A THING
THE LAST OF US WAS KIND OF A HOT MESS BUT HOLY FUCKING SHIT
Oh wow, so much love for this.

Since the oscars, everybody proud to be black & uplifted again, but by Thursday y’all be screaming scandal , & twerking as if this moment never existed….y’all need to sit y’all asses down just doing it for social media & likes. Y’all fuckin it up for the real ppl that’s proud regardless the event 😔
My dear brother…
This is for your own good.
Shut the fuck up. Have a seat and shut the LONG THE WAY fuck up.Thank you. I love you.
I’m really sick of people suggesting that watching Scandal makes black women hypocrites.
Scandal is a FICTIONAL TELEVISION SHOW. Watching it does not mean you endorse adultery (which…let’s be real, that’s the TAMEST theme on the show) the same way loving Breaking Bad doesn’t mean I’m going to go out and start selling meth. You can be proud of Lupita, Kerry and Shonda because they’re incredible and inspiring black women who are opening doors and breaking down barriers in Hollywood. There’s no conflict of interest there.
If I wanna twerk on Thursday nights and give Shonda all my edges that’s my damn business. It doesn’t take away from the pride I felt when Lupita won her Oscar, nor is it “fucking it up” for anyone else.
Also, can we be happy for a moment? Can we have something good happen in the black community without a, “Whatever, you’re going to dishonor it in two days,” response? I mean, damn, this is a big deal, this is good, celebrate a black woman’s success. Hell, celebrate the black community’s success.
Also can we get over the “black folks just twerk and show no respect” mentality? You assume everyone who “twerks” is just some degenerate black person who does nothing else? What, we have to be serious face all the time? We can’t have a moment of running out and trying to get into a selfie pic with Ellen and the other folks having fun at the Oscars? Oh wait…
Stop assuming this whole “y'all gonna forget about this and be twerkin’ all night” nonsense. I’m not going to forget what happened last night, even if I’m “twerking” later (which for me is more “playing video games and goofing off when I don’t have work to do.”)
