9.  Does talking about sex make you uncomfortable?

Actually no.  No one really brings it up too much, but if someone did I wouldn’t have any issues with it.  I’m not going to go into everything we do because I’m not just speaking for myself, but for my wifey, so if there are things she wants to keep private I’m going to respect that.  But overall I don’t really see a problem with it.  I’m sexually active  *shrugs*  And I also write things with adult themes in them, though that’s no big secret at all!

12.  What are your 5 favorite songs right now?

All I seem to listen to is video game and anime music, lol.  Like the list would be, “That rock remix to the Sonic the Hedgehog soundtrack,” because I’m sad like that.  O.K. That’s not 100 percent true:

–Applause by Lady Gaga

–Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore

–Monster by Eminem and Rihanna (it fits really well with one of the characters in “Seeking the Storyteller”)

–I Need a Doctor by Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Skylar Grey

–Dreams of an Absolution from the Sonic 06 soundtrack (terrible game, cool soundtrack, and it actually fits with “Double Hue” somehow wow)

32.  Which celebrities would you have a threesome with?

Any of the Avengers and/or Loki.  Pretty much anyone from Pacific Rim. The newest Man of Steel.  Natalie Portman.  Angelina Jolie.  Angela Bassett.  The newest Spiderman and his Gwen Stacey.  Pepper Potts (just Gwenyth Paltrow as Pepper Potts).  Anne Hathaway.  Sean Connery.  A certain voice actor whose name I’m not saying out of sheer embarrassment but if you know me you know who it is.

And Morrigan Freeman would narrate in the background.

41.  Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance?

It depends.  If you’ve done something wrong and you apologize for it, then maybe, but it depends on what you did to hurt me or the people I know.  There’s different levels of “wrong” to me.  For example, if someone I knew was in an abusive relationship and the person came back all apologies, then I would be that friend that’s like, “You better not take his/her ass back.”  Same with cheating.  There are just some things that are unforgivable in my eyes.

Oh god, they’re so cute!  Thanks to my wifey for trying to cheer me up since I’ve been sick since yesterday.  I love that Haruka is still swimming even if he’s sick, and how pissy Rin is, and how Rei feels he’s not beautiful, and Mako in denial, and Nagisa… awww, my dear Nagisa  :)

Reminds me of the time a lady told me whip doesn’t melt. Or a guy yelled at me for not understanding him/hearing him because he kept talking on the phone

Lame

For those in retail.

I worked in a Lil Caesars and a woman came in and wanted a sausage pizza with no sausage, but got mad when she was given a cheese pizza.

So when I worked at fitting room in Old Navy, a woman told me that a medium top was too small, and that the large top was too large. So she asked me to find her an “x-medium”. Old Navy carries x-small, small, medium, large, x-large, 1x, 2x and 3x. There is no “x-medium”. But she insisted, so I went and found her an “x-medium” (which was just a medium in a different color but the same top, same make, same EVERYTHING) and she goes very happily, “THIS! THIS FITS ME PERFECTLY! THANK YOU SO MUCH! See, you can do anything you can set your mind to!”

I’m a waitress at a big fancy resort, and once a woman asked me for a diet water and when I told her there was no such thing she demanded to see my manager (who then also promptly told her there was no such thing and brought her regular water).
Another occasion of stupidity occurred when a woman had been brought a steak cooked too much for her liking. I offered to take it back and bring her out a new one, cooked a little less, and she said “NO this one’s fine I just want you to cook THIS one a little less.” I then had to get the chef and have him explain why you can’t UNCOOK a steak.

When I was working at dunkin donuts there was this woman in the drive-thru who asked for a lightly toasted croissant and then started complaining that the croissant was warm. And wanted her money back, so she gave me the croissant back and I gave her the money and then she tells me “now i want my new croissant” she wanted a new one for free and as she was screaming at me this guy in a biker gang covered in tattoos leans over the counter in the store and yells “ma’am let me just tell you what we’re all thinking. fuck off, you stupid cunt.” I couldn’t stop laughing and she drove away in anger.

Most of the people like in the stories above know that they’re being totally irrational, but also know that if they complain enough they’ll most likely get something free or discounted. So really most of the the nonsensical fucks are actually just cheap fucks with no shame or respect for people.

That last bit of commentary though.

That last bit of commentary is so true.  Some people know that if they complain high enough they’ll get what they want.  Those customer service surveys?  Yeah, I remember those.  I remember clearly three times at GameStop where it was just ridiculous but our district manager wanted to do it anyway.

1.  Someone said that our banner inside the store was hung too low so he bumped into it.  He said that it made him feel like he wasn’t welcome in our store.  Our district manager made us take it down, so from that day forth every time he wanted a banner up in a sale I’d go, “But what if someone runs into it?  Remember that survey?”  He finally said it was ridiculous and I was like, “Right?”

2.  Someone complained about buying a defective system.  Which, yes, we will exchange it sure.  However, he failed to mention how he cursed out the girl working and how he was kicked out the store for it.  Since he didn’t mention that, our district manager wanted us to call him and work it out.  Yeah.  No.

3.  There was a customer unhappy with how much he was going to get back for cash on his games.  My district manager wanted to call him and explain how prices were set by corporate and how he’d get more for store credit.  Well, sir, we already did that, we do that all the time with trades.  It’s not like I can give him what he wants, which is more money, so what exactly am I supposed to do?  Call and apologize some more for what corporate does?  He already knows that.

But yeah, certain customers know how to bypass the people at the store level to reach someone higher up who just wants “the customer to be happy, no matter what,” even if it’s impossible.  Unless if you want me to increase the dollar amount in the computer for the trade, there’s nothing I can do.  Unless if you want HR on my ass for it.  And yes, if a customer starts swearing and threatening people he is out the door, there’s no need for that at all.

I’ve been wanting to do Maleficent for a long time!  Thanks for the support, anon, I’ll be able to do her someday I’m sure!  With the new movie coming out I’m sure she’ll have a huge variety of amazing outfits  <3

9.  Who/What is your dream cosplay?

I have a folder full of these!  One big one I want to get done this year is Neo Queen Serenity.  I just really, really want to do it.  Two big dream ones are Rita Repulsa and Maleficent.  Someday, someday I’ll do those, and it’ll be amazing!

Also I sort of want to do a bunch of Tiana.  Like different variations.  I just really love her lol.

25.  Favorite costume?

Tiana.  I just really love that dress.  I really, really do.  I love the Belle dress, too, and Princess Peach, but… o.k. those are my top three.  The funny thing is that I was going to retire Peach after August?  Metacon was going to me the last time I wore it, then that article happened so now I’m like, “Gonna revamp that sucker.”  I also want to redo my Queen Minnie cosplay, I did that yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeears ago!

28.  Who is your cosplay inspiration?

I sort of already answered this in #27, but… you know what, I have an answer for this.

One is my partner.  Seriously, you have no idea how important she is with this cosplay thing.  On top of making all of my costumes, she gives me the encouragement I need, too.  I really want to show off her work because I think she’s amazing, and I think this is something she should be doing, you know?  She should be at home making costumes and hats and hoodies and everything.  We should be going to conventions to show off our book and our art and that should be what we do.  And I told her that it’s really great that there’s a costume maker out there who can make things for plus sized people, or just… anyone really, she doesn’t care about size, or race, or gender, or anything.  She got to make a dress for our friend going through transition right now and that was the most amazing cosplay moment I have ever witnessed.  And I really don’t think my partner realizes how important it is to have someone who doesn’t judge what character you want to do, or flat out refuses to make something because of who you are (which happened to our friend because she’s trans).  I wouldn’t even be cosplaying so much if not for her.  I have doubtful moments sometimes, and she’s like, “You look beautiful,” and that’s really all it takes.  To have someone in your corner to support you.  That means everything.

In the same scope is my parents because they are so supportive, and them spazzing at all of the writing and art that I do is just wonderful.  I look at them as a way to remind myself to go out there and do what I want, because I know they made sacrifices.  My mom had my brother at a very young age and stopped going to school.  My dad always tells me how he slacked off and wasted what he can do.  So now here I am, doing what I want to do.  It’s not always easy, but it’s fun and I’m enjoying it  :)

The second thing that inspires me is all of my fans.  Cheesy, I know, but it’s true.  I wrote that article and so many people shared it and commented and just… getting messages from people saying things like, “Now I want to consider cosplaying, because of you,” that means the world to me.  As a writer and an artist, I do want to impact people, I want people to remember me.  But now that it’s actually happening – in a way I never expected – I really don’t know what to say except, “Thank you.”  You don’t see the smile I get on my face when I get your messages, or the fact that it takes me a minute to respond because I’m sitting there staring at the screen, but all of you are important to me  :)

xander6981 asked: 5, 23, 27!

5.  Hardest cosplay?

I think I’d have to say Tiana.  There are actually a lot of pieces to it, so getting into the dress takes a bit of effort.  Then getting into the car is an extra challenge, lol.  If I remember right it’s the petticoat, two skirts, and then the top piece which is like a corset.  I’m serious, I don’t even need a bra with it.

The first time I wore it the wifey had to fix the zipper so that it would zip easier, and somehow a pin got sewn into it too, so it kept poking me until she could fix it  ^^;;;

23.  What is your favorite prop?

The frying pan for Peach, because I love Smash Brothers Peach for the simple fact that she fights and kicks ass.  I also enjoy the frog for Tiana, but that frying pan is awesome.

27.  Who do you consider to be cosplay mascots/exports?

There are a lot, and I mean, a LOT of cosplayers I love for a variety of reasons.  I don’t really have one where I’m like, “Oh god I wanna be just like you!”  I really just want to be like me  :)  Though lately there’s some cosplayers who notice me and I’m like, “… what?”  Because they have so many fans and are so amazing, and the fact that they took a second to even share the article and my page just makes me stare.  I think when I wrote that article, I got about 500 likes in a month or two?  When I made my page I figured, “Eh my friends will like it at least,” but now… wow.

I feel like that with everyone who messages me or shares my page or shows me love, not just the folks with tens of thousands of likes.  Sure I’m flattered beyond belief when a page I’ve been following for a while suddenly posts about me, but I’m just as flattered when some newcomer is like, “You’re amazing.”  I can say, however, that one thing that’s been happening that blows my mind is getting messages from conventions. Someone from Anime Milwaukee and Daishocon emailed me, and I’m not sure how that will all pan out, but the fact that convention staffers are looking at me like, “Wow I hope she comes to our con,” is just bananas!  Or when a guest takes notice, you know?  J. Michael Tatum spazzed about my cosplay.  Little Kuriboh said I was a beautiful Tiana.  Greg Ayres remembers me every time I see him at a con.  That’s insane to me!

Going into this, I never once thought, “Hey I’m gonna be a black plus sized lesbian cosplay model,” I just wanted to have fun.  Now?  Bring it on!
