The Inner Workings of a Chibi.

Now the basher is saying that I have the frying pan so I can fry chicken real quick and eat it.

Again with these insults that aren’t really insulting, I mean… fried chicken is delicious.  I mean I know that was supposed to be a fat black joke but I’m not gonna lie, fried chicken is great.  I can’t knock fried chicken, I just can’t. Though they are wrong about the pan, this pan is not what I use to fry food, it’s old and burnt out.  I have a special pan in a locked cabinet that needs me to punch in a code to access it.  That’s my frying pan.

Seriously though it’s not even worth responding to this person, it’ll just make them insult whales and chicken and stuff and those things have done nothing wrong.  Oh and chewed gum at some point, that happened too.  But again, gum is great, unless if it loses its flavor too quickly. That’s the worst.

Anonymous asked: Hey just wanted to say that Princess Peach cosplay has adorable.

Thank you so much  :)  I just woke up to see more messages, more followers, and a lot of people sticking up for me.  You all are amazing people!

Anonymous asked: Hunny, you don't follow me and I love love love your peach cosplay :D you don't even worry about those haters!!! hahaha keep on keeping on sweetie :D and I actually hope to see more cosplays from you :D

Oh don’t worry, you will see more!  I think I’ve settled on Princess Serenity thanks to the amazing art of asieybarbie.  I’m really excited about it.  Sometimes I forget how much I love Sailor Moon until I see art or it comes up in conversation.  But yeah, next year means more cosplay, for sure!  I really want to revamp Peach now though you have no idea, I’m really sad that her dress is the same in the new Smash Brothers game  :(  But I’ll think of something!  and here I was gonna retire that dress omg nevermind!

Oh shit anon, I’m sorry, I see what you mean now.  I thought you meant if I saw what people were saying on my post about it, but I didn’t realize people were directly reblogging that person and responding.  Wow!  I also seem to be getting more followers.  I guess I am an adorable whale after all, but hey, so is Makoto from Free! so yeah!  <3

Anonymous asked: I hope you've also seen some of the responses to that thoughtless individual on your Peach cosplay! For every hater, there's someone backing you up - don't let the shouts of the assholes drown out the loving affirmations of the people who actually matter, okay?

I won’t, anon!  I promise!  Honestly when I decided to put myself out there more in regards to cosplay, my mind immediately went, “… I’m gonna get bashed aren’t I?”  I think a lot of plus sized cosplayers, or cosplayers of color, are on guard.  Because you hear the horror stories so you’re just waiting for it to happen.  Or you hear the “just so you know people might make fun of you” from people who are trying to be supportive, but it ends up scaring cosplayers more, at least to me.  I mean, honestly, look at the society we live in.  Plus sized people are well aware of their size and how some people look at them, so they don’t need to be told this again.  It just makes it worse.

I don’t want people to be discouraged, because there’s always going to be that one person out there, no matter what size you are.  As a friend once told me, you could be the character, actually BE the character, and someone will find fault.  I have friends, skinny, attractive friends, who do such a great job and I see them dealing with hate on their cosplay.  And I feel like, “Wow but you look just like Naoto why are people doing this to you?!”  But nope, the bashing is there too. “Attention whore.”  "Fap bait.“  Just… I’ve seen all sorts of bashing, for all sorts of people, and I know there’s some great cosplayers I see at cons who won’t share their pictures or anything because they’re worried about what people will say.  They don’t have cosplay pages, or photoshoots, or anything like that.  Or they talk about how they wish they could cosplay but they’re too this or that to do it.

I want that to stop.

I mean, that Peach cosplay has over 3000 notes.  I never expected that.  I never expected to have so many people like it.  I was actually going to retire it because it’s so old (Smash Brothers BRAWL launch was the first time I wore it), but now I want to revamp it because, holy crap you guys!  But you don’t know until you put yourself out there, and I want to put myself out there so the cosplayer I use to be years ago won’t be so worried about what people will think.  Think about how long I’ve had this Peach cosplay, and I’m just now taking decent pictures in it and posting them online.  I had very, very few pictures, and they were all from other people taking them and posting them to their Facebooks and stuff.  I never stopped and went, "I should take pictures myself and share them.”  It’s time to get over that.

My not so secret dream is to show off the costumes my wifey makes, I want her to take on more commissions and I want her to be this sort of, I don’t know, plus sized seamstress?  Like I told her, it’s a big deal that you’re not only able to make stuff for plus sized folks, but you’re willing to.  You can make a hoodie for a girl who’s a size 28.  You can make huge ballgowns for a girl my size.  That’s a big deal, and I want to get the word out there.

Oh!  And thank you for the support, lol.  Sorry, I should’ve said that first  >.<

turnstabled asked: Ohhhhh my I am very sorry that person was making comments about weight and race. I don't think it really matters in cosplay - you're just supposed to have fun, yeah? Speaking of, do you have any tips on cosplay?

That is the number one tip right there: have fun  :)  Seriously, have fun with it.  I mean sure, there’s some pretty big names out there and folks who are making it into a career, but you should enjoy the career you have.  Don’t ever let cosplay stress you out or bring you down. At its core, its fun, and should be enjoyable.

In that aspect, don’t go out looking for a character based on appearances, as in, if you want to cosplay Sailor Moon because you love her but you’re a black girl, or curvy, or whatever, then do it.  If you’re black, don’t go searching for a black character because you feel like you absolutely have to cosplay a black character.  Cosplay who you want.  There’s some great black characters out there, yes, but you might not want to cosplay them.  You might click better with someone else.  Cosplay who you want and who you like.  Same with size.  Don’t feel like you have to cosplay the plus sized character because you’re plus sized, if you want to cosplay the skinny person, do it.

If you’re black but want to cosplay Rogue instead of Storm, go for it.  If you’re plus sized and you want to cosplay Naruto instead of Chouji, do it  :)

Oh snap I saw the activity jump on my Peach cosplay again.  Then I noticed someone reblogging it with some pretty terrible remarks about my weight. I guess I should come clean, guys.  I’m fat.  In case you weren’t aware this kind tumblr user has taken the time to remind everyone. Thanks for comparing me to both Precious and a whale all at once.  Because it’s so insulting to be compared to a good actress and a cute sea animal.
