Asking CNN to issue apologies for reporting nothing but sympathy for the rapists in the Steubenville case. Absolutely disgusting.
Signed. Fucking disgusting.
I usually don’t do the whole petition thing, but this is serious. I have no idea what this girl is going through, or what any woman goes through when something like this happens. But I do know what is right, what is wrong, and how at an early age we’re taught the difference and taught to NOT turn a blind eye to the things that are wrong.
Showing these boys as victims is wrong.
To even paint a remorseful picture of a girl’s attackers is sending the wrong message completely. It’s bad enough that this girl has to deal with the hostile town and death threats, but to have a nationally syndicated show go on air and say, “Those poor boys,” and not even address her? That’s sending a terrible message, not just to the real victims out there, but to people who think that they can do something like that! "Oh, everyone’s going to feel bad for me,“ is THAT what you want attackers to think? That if they do something wrong they may get punished, but people will FEEL for them?
And this girl is getting death threats. DEATH THREATS! While CNN is like, "These poor young boys,” and… when did we get it so backwards!? It scares me to know that kids so young would even considering doing something like this (or at any age, for that matter, young or old) but it’s fucking terrifying to see how this is being played out, seeing networks that should be on this girl’s side being like, “Well she was drunk so…” or “Football careers down the drain…” or “The boys showed emotion and cried…” and just… no. NO!

The top 5 rape apologist reactions to the Steubenville rape verdict -
The Steubenville guilty verdict spawned nearly as much rape apology as the original news of the case did, highlighting the point — made by feminists like Zerlina Maxwell and Jaclyn Friedman — that America has a long way to go before it gets past blaming victims and sympathizing with rapists.
Below are the top 5 rape apologist reactions to the verdict.
1. CNN: “Those poor boys’ lives are ruined”
CNN correspondent Candy Crowley responded to the verdict by bemoaning the sad future of two rapists who traumatized one young girl for life but would never get to live out their football dreams.
2. The judge: “This is the problem with social media”
Feministe’s Jill Filipovic tweeted that the judge in the case noted that the verdict is a lesson in “how you record things on social media that are so prevalent today. As she said, “Problem =/ the recording.”
3. Author/blogger Michael Crooke: “It’s just buyer’s remorse”
Author/blogger Michael Crook, who additionally claims that “rape doesn’t exist,” won the race for most-likely-to-be-poorly-executed satire, at least until he took to his Twitter feed to demand that the survivor be “held accountable”, tell women that “skimpy clothing is pretty much implied consent” and encourage every woman to not “dress like a whore if you don’t want to be treated like one.”4. Way too many people on Twitter: “Die, Jane Doe!”
Clearly, death threats are not the way to go.
5. Lee Stranahan on Breitbart: “The town’s the real victim here”
Stranahan says that the media and Anonymous are the real villains in the case, though they really should’ve been paying more attention to rapes reported in Occupy camps anyway.
I am incredibly grateful that this girl’s bravery paid off and brought these rapists to justice. But even as that victory is earned, rape culture prevails. So, so disgusting.
Ugh, just, I don’t even know where to start at where this irritates me. I think it begins with the, “poor boys, futures are gone,” thing. Just… yeah no. How damaging is that to that poor girl? "Yeah sorry honey you were raped and that’s terrible… but THINK OF YOUR ATTACKERS THEIR LIVES ARE DESTROYED NOW!“
And can we PLEASE STOP BLAMING THE VICTIM?! Just… please? Unless I can start going around assuming that every guy I walk past is a douchebag waiting to rape a girl because they wear the color red, because RED MEANS ANGER AND RAGE RIGHT, then just… stop stop stop stop STOP!

Another NYC billboard…
This one is messed up!
I agree.
It IS messed up that that billboard is stating a FACT. The fact that over one half of all African American pregnancies end in abortion. The fact that 80+% of abortion mills are in minority neighborhoods.
It IS messed up.
And yet WE are the racist ones.
yes, you are the racist ones.
where are you after those brown babies are born? do you speak up when they’re hunted down and beaten by the police? do you speak up against a system that systematically works to oppress them, making the decision to have a child so much harder because having a child is so much more than giving birth? are you going to help pay for their healthcare? schooling? housing? food? Where are you when it comes to discussing why the fuck is the system made so that PoC have less access to a better education, financial aid, work etc.
Don’t pretend to care about brown babies when they’re beaten and killed every day and you people are no where to be found.
Racist piece of shit.Reblogging for trrruuuth

Anonymous asked: You are adorable and so cute. You always make me smile!
Oh wow! Thank you, kind anon! *hugs* I hope to keep you smiling, but… adorable and cute, wha-?! *blushes* A-am not!
It doesn’t have to be romantic (though if you did feel that way, it’d be perfectly fine). Just how you feel in general. I get curious of people’s impressions of me.
