Headcanon: A day in the life of me

Personal challenge for myself today: take an everyday event and make it sound magical.

She’s laying back on the couch, laptop in her lap with a fresh cup of cocoa at her side.  It’s been a relatively calm day, the kitten sprawled out on the futon mattress, sleeping soundly and dreaming the way kittens do.  She’s been listening to music as she writes, trying to create a whole new world that she hopes, someday, other people can become lost in.  The characters are there, they just need to travel from behind her closed eyelids to the blank screen in front of her.

The music changes to a familiar melody, an animated movie she has seen once upon a dream.  She remembers the black and white world, the man made of paper and the lady he pursues.  "It’s Paperman,“ she whispers, "It’s playing the Paperman music.”

That’s when the magic happens.

She hasn’t looked outside in a while, too focused on her fictional characters and the world she’s trying to put them in.  The music gets to a particularly memorable part of the movie.  The papers are resting quietly in the alley, unmoving, then something wondrous brings them to life.  One is woken from its slumber, followed by another, each flowing in the wind to the beat of the music.  The writer smiles as she remembers this part and takes a moment to glance out the window.

It’s snowing.

It’s not the harsh snow that’s seemed to plague her home as of late, not the fast and overpowering kind that makes it hard to see.  It’s the soft, gentle snow that’s falling from the sky, dusting the sidewalks and streets like powered sugar.

She smiles and imagines that it’s paper, one of the soft flakes kissed by her red lips.

Inspired by the Paperman soundtrack playing while I was listening to music, then me noticing that it had started to snow :)

ofherownvolition-blog asked: 15 and 23!

15: Which two games do you think would make an awesome crossover?

Hmmmm… that’s a tough one, because there’s already so many good crossover ones.  One thing I am hoping for (since P4: Arena sort of hints at it) is Persona 5 being some huge, HUGE thing with characters from all of the games.  I mean if it’s brand new characters that’s fine too, of course, but just that whole, “Looks like the Investigation Team still has work to do,” vibe, and Mitsuru being all, “No no let S.E.E.S take care of things, just live your lives,” it just feels like something huge is about to happen.

23: Biggest disappointment you’ve had in gaming?

Oh man, oh man, where to begin… it’s hard to choose just one.  I’ve been pissed off at things like Metroid: Other M, Final Fantasy 13 not being as open as I wanted, and the list goes on and on.  Duke Nukem Forever, Mortal Kombat vs DC, the downward spiral of Sonic the Hedgehog (a werewolf, seriously?), just… ugh, ugh!

But I know which one to pick with this.

So, I love the Fatal Frame franchise.  I played the second one first, then went back and did the first one.  They’re really, really creepy games and will make you scared to have the lights off or pick up a camera.  But… the first game… has the shittiest ending ever.

Essentially, you go to this creepy ass house to find your big brother.   Along the way your life is a living hell with ghosts and all that attacking you.  The main ghost has this really sad story (as usual with Japanese ghosts) and it just so happens that your older brother looks like her lost love.  That’s really sad but…

… no, no no, no!

Your big brother decides to STAY WITH THE GHOST IN THE HOUSE!

This is like, the worst ending I’ve ever seen.  After all the work it took to get through that house, face those ghosts, beat the final boss ghost, and he… decides to stay.  No, I don’t wanna go with my ALIVE little sister, I wanna stay with the dead lady who spent the whole game tormenting my little sister with ghosts who wanted to kill her.  Yeah, that seems fair.

I WAS SO PISSED I CAN’T EVEN… ARGH!  If you wanna stay with a ghost for the rest of your life, try CALLING FIRST OR SOMETHING BEFORE BABY SIS COMES TO TRY AND SAVE YOU!!!

Headcanon: In which a lesson is learned from an unlikely source

Apparently it was Adachi’s birthday?  I’ve never written anything for him before, so I thought I’d give it a shot.  Adachi and Naoto have a talk which, in turn, leads to a lesson.

Warnings:  Spoilers for December and beyond.  Not really any pairings, unless if you want them to be there  ^^

When they put Pokemon in a comic book….AWSOME!

Dinah’s adopted daughter teaching Big Barda to play Pokemon is one of my favourite comics moments ever :D

WHAT WAS THIS FROM OMG WHO WROTE THIS?

Birds of Prey by… was this Gail Simone or Bedard? I thought Simone, but I know at least one scene I thought was hers was from another writer. It is an awesome run, pre-52. (Though you might want to stop after the Spy Smasher arc, since there was a writer switch-up, and abrupt cancellation that left plot danglies.)

should have known, BOP is made of win.

*endless amounts of giggling*
