Today is my husband’s (simongannon) birthday! He RPs Kanji with me, and I RP Naoto, so I thought this was fitting, o .. o Also, since Kanji’s birthday was a few days ago, this is extra relevant to our interests~!
Since Naoto gives Hero this watch in the lovers route, I figured that it was cute if my KanNaos include it, :3 I love Naoto’s nerdiness~
I apologize if all the details of their outfits aren’t correct, since I was referencing these off a very shaky YouTube video, and have not yet gotten to that part in my playthrough… But these outfits are just too snazzy to pass up!

My otp: I think everyone knows this already. This goes to Kanji and Naoto. Besides his obvious adorable crush on her (AND him, I might add, because he crushes before the big reveal) I think they’re good for each other. Despite his blushing and hesitation, there are times where I think he really comes through for her. He’s the one when facing her shadow says, “Let her get it all out,” because you know, you can say “Don’t say it” as much as you want, but in a way… people need to? They need to get through the denial before coming to terms with things, and Kanji’s the one who sees that. He even says in the anime, “We had to go through this, too.” Besides the cuteness between them, that moment was one definite one where I saw their potential. I can go on and on and on and on, of course, but I’ll stop there :)
My most hated pairing: Honestly? I don’t have one. I’m one of those weird Kanji and Naoto shippers who can see her with other people, too. I’ve written her with Souji, with Yosuke, with Rise, I just… I don’t have a burning hatred with her and other characters. I don’t even mind her with Souji, I’ve seen cute fanart and have read really interesting things with that pairing, I just… sometimes I don’t mind girly Naoto? Sometimes I’m scared to say that because I think the Kanji and Naoto fans will skin me alive, but I don’t mind girly Naoto. Nothing says that she can’t kick ass while accepting her girl self. I like boyish Naoto and girly Naoto, I like both, I think they’re both a part of her.
My unusual otp: Toss up between Yosuke and Naoto and Mitsuru and Naoto (thanks for that Arena). Though seriously, Mitsuru could be good for her. She’s definitely womanly and is all confidence and is a complete badass. I guess, in that same token, I think any of the girls would be good for Naoto (Rise, Yukiko, Chie – maybe especially Chie, oddly enough, but the girls don’t hide being girls and they still kick ass… part of me kind of wishes the game would’ve addressed that somehow?)
My crossover otp: Light from Death Note and Naoto. Don’t ask how that happened.
My brotp/friendship otp: Rise and Naoto. OR even Souji and Naoto. Since I put her with Kanji in a heartbeat, there’s no denying that there’s something between her and senpai. He means a lot to her, I think they’d be great friends.
Character headcanon: Do I really have to I mean I’ve written so many… how about more of a PSA? There’s always this debate about Naoto, all the time, it comes up after a few months and people debate her gender issues. I think what makes Naoto so great is that you can interpret her however you want. Trans? Sure. Insecure about her femininity? That works too. To me, either way works.
I personally see her, after much time, accepting being a girl. I just wish people would stop assuming that means she becomes this useless, cute girl, because it doesn’t. In fact, assuming that defeats the purpose of her dungeon and sort of proves her original point of being seen as useless if she’s a girl. But hey, if you want to see her as trans, or asexual, or whatever that’s fine too. The potential is there, you know :) Just don’t fight about it! You can post as many screencaps from the game that you want to try and defeat someone’s argument, but for everyone one of those someone can dig and look for something else. For example, in the game she says, “I am a woman, and a detective,” in her social link. Yes, that’s good. BUT! In the artbook there’s notes from the creators that say she was intended to be a boy, and Teddie be a girl.

So just enjoy the character is what I’m saying :)

Oh goodness, urm… I didn’t get into the P3 fandom much so this is going to be boring, I think. You’re allowed to ask for someone else after I answer this if you want :)
My otp: Shinji and Akihiko, hands down. You can probably convince me to add some Mitsuru in that mix.
My most hated pairing: Don’t really have one, since I wasn’t really heavy into that fandom.
My unusual otp: Is Chie or Kanji really unusual after Arena? I certainly don’t think so ^^
My crossover otp: Again, Chie or Kanji, not really a crossover right? I mean…
My brotp/friendship otp: Ikinda feel like Mitsuru and Akihiko are my friendship otp that ends up sleeping together a couple of times. I don’t think they mean to, but it just happens. It’s kinda like my Yosuke and Chie otp, I see them sleeping together, maybe a couple of times, but they don’t become a couple. And they’re cool with that. I think Mitsuru will be around Akihiko in some way, shape, or form for a long, long time, same with Yosuke and Chie. I guess Mitsuru and Akihiko are sort of a more mature Yosuke and Chie for me.
Character headcanon: I think Akihiko really cared for Shinji, was probably in love and all that jazz, but it was sort of a doomed relationship from the start (considering the whole S.E.E.S thing and such). They weren’t really together but the feelings were there, they’ve messed around but probably never actually said the words “I love you,” which is something Akihiko regrets, to this day. Akihiko will always have Mitsuru, but I don’t really see them as characters that will be in a relationship. I don’t see them as being characters who can settle down like that, but they’ll always be there for each other, maybe even cross the sexual line, but having a family and kids and things like that? No. And that’s not a bad thing, they’re content with that.
I also think that Akihiko sees himself in Kanji, is maybe even a bit jealous, because you know, the whole theme of P4 is “facing yourself and accepting yourself,” and Kanji has done that at such a young age. And Kanji’s feelings for Naoto are pretty loud and clear, and that’s something Akihiko never did with Shinji. There’s hope for Kanji to be with who he wants, but Akihiko lost that chance.
