girls don’t owe you shit

I was just talking about this at a conference I was at over the weekend, this whole “geek cred” thing and just how ridiculous it is.  I talked about how crazy it is to try and “out Batman” someone, for example, because there’s so many forms of Batman now, and can’t we be happy that there’s more Batman to enjoy and that we’re getting all kinds of new fans?  Comic Batman (which has way too many variations to get into), Nolan Batman, Tim Burton Batman, Batman the Animated Series, Arkham video games, just… can’t we be happy about all of the bat instead of trying to outdo each other?

For those of you who didn’t know. When I went to New York in November, I was able to record a small spot for an episode of Pokemon. That episode aired this weekend and am now able to say that I voice the Coumarine Gym Referee. This was my first anime I’ve ever recorded for and it was such a huge honour to do this.

Here’s a link to my performance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZqyKifgR3s

That’s awesome!  Congratulations <3  Hopefully this is just the beginning :)

but really guys

tampons/pads marketed to young kids who just started getting their periods

should be a thing

wrappers with dinosaurs and planets and glitter and cats and sea creatures

make kids feel comfortable about something natural that happens to their bodies.

and for goodness sake

don’t sexualize it

No. Actually. Why do you need this? You don’t. Getting your period means you are starting to mature, which means you need to drive them AWAY from needless things like that. Also, you all bitch enough as it is about paying for these things, imagine how much more money companies will charge for those things? Or, maybe EDUCATE them, so they will already feel comfortable about it. Jesus fucking christ.

Tell that to ten-year-old me, who still hadn’t had the period talk yet in school. I was crying and freaking out because I thought I was dying. Then my mother comes up to me and says with a smile “You’re becoming a woman!” I didn’t want to grow up yet. I was ten. Fucking ten and was told to start to grow up. My mom wanted me to get away from silly little kids things because I’m fucking bleeding out my goddamn vagina.

Also some people are children at heart and like to be silly and having a dinosaur-patterned maxi-pad would be pretty fuckin’ hilarious and I’m sure there’d be a huge market for that.

Not all people with vaginas are stoic and serious and want the same frilly, swirly boring-ass pads and tampons.

I have spent all morning curled up in horrible pain because periods are the devil and you bet your LIFE I want glittery cat wrapped sanitary products anything to make this bullshit even a tiny bit better

Sharks. If the wrappers had sharks I would never stop laughing and this whole horrible process, for which I have literally no use, would be worth it.

Speaking as someone who was 11… I would’ve loved to have a glittery cat wrapped sanitary product over the “hey look it looks like a pack of sugar so people don’t know what it is so you can pass it around in class to your friends in need shhhh keep your secret” stuff that came out.  I grew up with Flintstones vitamins and themed band-aids, why in the world couldn’t I have themed sanitary products, too?
