Jon Stewart Goes After Fox in Powerful Ferguson Monologue

I been waiting for the daily show to come back so they could cover this

See, Jon Stewart usually does a lot of satirical humour, but at this point, the writers are just like “fuck the comedy this shit is real” and I was so happy to see that they finally covered this, and it was really well done.

“You’re tired of hearing about it?  Imagine how fucking exhausting it is living it.”  ~Jon Stewart.

Seriously, watch this video, bless this video, it’s amazing, but I think my favorite parts are when he hears other reports on Ferguson and can’t even get his comment out because he’s so disgusted at what they’re saying.  "They’re playing the race card.“ "Racists are the ones who bring up race.”  Seriously, just… really?

What’s even better is that he knows that he’ll never understand how it feels, but its not about understanding, its about human decency and showing respect and knowing that this shit happens.  Honestly, you don’t have to try and understand my black experience, but at least acknowledge that my experience is different and that there are people who will crap all over it because of my skin color.  No one is playing any sort of card, stop living in this bubble racism is very real and people get killed over it.  Stop comparing your experience to someone else’s, because it’ll never be the same.

I love Tsukiyama (Tokyo Ghoul) SO MUCH that I really hate the fact that I love him. He is a creepy, perverted douche, but I love his “loyalty” and his humor!!! He makes me laugh on serious parts and I really appreciate him.

Pretty much a summary of me and Tokyo Ghoul.  Watching Tsukiyama went from, “Oh my fucking fuck fuck this dude is fucked wow,” to, “OMG what a beautiful creature lololol tres bien bitches!”

Also (since I have so many thoughts on this episode) shout out to Free! for showing this kind of situation.  Sometimes, people see so much in us (Rin seeing the potential in Haru), and people want us to go so far and know we can.  However, sometimes, we’re just not ready for that, sometimes its too much to handle, and sometimes we just break.

This is probably a particularly hard blow for Rin because he’s said time and time again that Haru and the others have saved him.  Without Haru, he wouldn’t even be swimming right now.  So to see someone you’ve placed on such a high pedestal snap and say something like, “I’m not like you,” and, “What future,” and other such words is painful as hell.

But honestly, Haru is speaking the truth.  Just because everyone is ready for him to take that next step doesn’t mean that he is, and that much pressure can really, really effect you.  And let’s face it, high school is when you’re expected to know what you want to do, not just after high school, but for the rest of your life.  You’re supposed to have a plan for yourself, but that’s not the case for Haru.  Hell, that’s not the case for a lot of people.  So, you know, kudos to the show for taking the most gifted person and having him say, “I don’t have a plan, o.k.?!”

All right all feels aside, honestly?  This was such a great way to show what panic feels like, and how it feels to be so pressured.  What hurts the most is when you’re pressured to do something you love doing.

This is so true.  I mean no matter what your feelings are about Sousuke, just… omg he is obviously so in love with Rin, and I’m so terrified that Rin’s world is about to come crashing down because not only did Haru just snap at him, but Sousuke is in so much pain right now, and… ARGH THIS FUCKING EPISODE!

This makes me so sad, not just for Haru, but for Rin, too.  Rin’s been trying to make both of his dreams work: making it to nationals and swimming with his friends, and what’s the one thing Sousuke told him before?  

He can’t make both work.

And Haru just snapped at him and said he just wants to swim with his friends, that he’s not like him at all.  So I bet Rin’s thinking… that you really can’t do both, can you?  If the person who helped him so much last year feels like this, then…
