The Inner Workings of a Chibi.
You are my inspiration... You are the reason why I spend hours painting intricate fish scales on my body, and sewing elaborate ball gowns, and its gotten to the point where I think about you all the time. I'm crying as I'm grinning like an idiot and writing this. I love you, and thank you so much for being you.

Oh wow, you have no idea how much I’m smiling as I’m writing this, and I wish I had better words to respond but I’m just so busy smiling fondly at this message.  Thank you so much, anon.  You will show me these costumes, right?  <3

Your Tiana cosplay made my heart absolutely melt! Thank you so much for your smile!

Awww, thank you so much!  I’m really glad you enjoyed it  :)

So this is a thing coming soon and I’m super excited to talk about it!  Not only do I have an article in the first issue, but I’ll also have an interview in the second issue.  If you’re going to Anime Central, I’ll be there with business cards about the magazine to advertise it.  I’ll have them at my table and will be walking around with them  :)

Here’s how you can keep up with the magazine:

That awkward moment when you reblog something and then find out that it was posted by one of your coworkers I’ve found you now you will never escape.

Seriously though brichibi you should be in my division I’ll keep you posted.

This is a thing that happened and it was glorious.  One of the managers at the writing job I do reblogged my Tiana cosplay without realizing it was me. I love jobs run by geeks  :)

You know, I really love what Midnight Pursona shared about cosplay, but what I love more is that more people are coming out and saying how bashing someone over cosplay is just ridiculous.  I love that more people are being vocal about it and when someone says something offensive to them they’re responding to it.

There’s this idea of “laughing it off” and “responding gives your oppressor power.”  However, I only like to laugh at things that are funny, and being called names isn’t funny.  Also, how long can you expect someone to be quiet about something?  Being called horrible names and not saying anything doesn’t always work, because that can give someone the idea that they can keep doing it.  And why are we blaming the victim in the first place?  Instead of addressing the person who is doing the name calling, when did it become o.k. to be like, “Eh don’t say anything,” and, “You’re just making it worse by saying something.”  Right, so it’s my fault for defending myself?

Also, speaking out can give someone else who is too afraid to try cosplay the confidence to try, which is amazing.  I love when people are like, “I’m going to try cosplay now because of you,” so when I see more people speaking out about this I get a happy little smile on my face  :)

midnight-pursona:

“Your too fat.”

“I didn’t know [insert character] was black!”

“Why don’t you do more black cosplays?”

“Cosplay to your size!”

“I don’t think that looks right on you, why don’t you cosplay [insert character] instead?”

“Why is [insert character] black? They’re not black in the show.”

“You shouldn’t cross-play, it looks weird on you.”

“Your boobs are too big for [insert character].”

To everyone who as ever posted a comment or question like this, my answer:

I am a black plus size female cosplayer, if you don’t like it… well honestly I don’t care. The more you comment like an idiot, the more it feeds my will power to prove I’m an amazing cosplayer, not matter what you say. I may have days, or even weeks when I feel down about myself, but that will never stop me from doing what I love. I may have large boobs, chubby stomach, double chin, hair on my face, dark spots around my face and body, and a flat butt, but I rock any cosplay I put on. So grow up, and get out of my face. <3

Oh no she did Rogue  *hyperventilates*
