So Anime Milwaukee is over Valentine’s Day weekend, so this new piece is finished just in time. The many loves of Harley Quinn! The first picture is the finished woodburning before I added any color. Then with the realization of this being Harley’s loves and the con being over Valentine’s Day, the second picture now has a bit of color: white, red, and pink <3
We just got the news that we will have an artist alley table at Anime Milwaukee this year! And, if all goes well, we’ll also have printed copies of our books! You should stop by - February 14th - 16th

Oops looks like we might be going to Anime Milwaukee after all :) Not sure if there’s time for any of the new cosplay plans, but Peach and Tiana can at least come along ^^ And hey I think we’ll have a table too!
I actually went to the movie theatre with a friend to see this movie and the entire theatre just watched it MST3K style and it was the greatest experience ever.
I usually don’t get really sad when celebrities die? Usually because it’s like, sure I like them, and yeah it’s sad when they die, but I wasn’t like really close to them so I’m not too hung up on it? But James Avery… that really is like a piece of my childhood is gone. Not just Uncle Phil, but Shredder in the original TMNT cartoon. That’s two hits at once. It kinda sucks :( It’s so weird too because my brain is like, when celebrities die it’s usually not ones I grew up with? It might be someone my parents grew up with, or like, someone I learned about in my twenties or something. But I was still a kid with Fresh Prince AND with TMNT.
So yeah, it’s a sad time to be an 80s kid.
Rest in Peace, James. You’ll be missed.
James Avery — the beloved dad on “Fresh Prince of Bel Air“ — has died at age 65 .. TMZ has learned.
Sources close to the actor tell TMZ he died in an L.A. hospital last night. Avery had recently undergone surgery for an undisclosed illness and took a turn for the worse late yesterday.
And we’re told … his wife, Barbara, had been at his bedside but left for a short period of time to get something to eat. When she came back, she learned he had just died.

Some pretty artses I did for a recent comic convention! You may have seen this (in form of prints) from a couple of my Tumblr posts, so here are ALLLL of them.
I had initially wanted to draw several of the X-Men in different seasons (I have Kitty Pryde slotted for Spring, and Jean Grey for Summer), and got stumped for a season that would best represent Ororo. When in doubt - ask the Internet - I posed the question to my Facebook fanpage followers. The answers were? Draw her in ALL the seasons XD
So here she is, Storm for all Seasons. I wanted to draw her for ages in an appropriately awesome setting because she is one awesome character - and I ended up splurging on four illustrations of her at once lol
I tried to insert some references of the weather in each seasons (rain for Spring, a summer thunderstorm in the Summer piece, wind for autumn etc).. nothing very out there but hopefully it’ll add something to the overall piece!

Woooow look at all the Storms I can cosplay…
Imagine, if you will, Carlos’ first week in Night Vale. He doesn’t have much time for entertainment, such as watching T.V. or tuning into the radio show that he’s heard others talking about — including his colleagues. He’s too busy trying to settle in.
But.
As he wanders around town, going to the grocery store, to the bank, and other such places he can’t help but hear the whispers. ”So that must be Carlos.” ”Oh my, he really is perfect.” ”Why did Telly cut his hair?” Carlos is confused, but he shrugs it off. The little town is weird, so these whispers could mean anything. But even his coworkers are talking about him. “Beautiful, perfect Carlos,” giggle snort. So, finally, he asks them what’s going on. They tell him about Cecil’s radio show and how he goes on and on about him.
So Carlos goes home and tunes in, and he’s surprised to hear such a low, enticing voice complimenting him in every sentence. He wonders if he should be a touch bit creeped out since he’s never met this Cecil person, but a much larger part of him feels flattered.
From that day forward, he walks around Night Vale with a smile, telling people that he is, indeed, the beautiful Carlos. Someday, he’ll call into the station and talk with Cecil, or go visit him, but for now he’s content with that smooth, wonderful voice that calls him perfect.

My 2013 cosplay year with the added bonus of the fried chicken incident that led to the article I wrote :) It’s been a crazy year, but 2014 will probably be crazier with new cosplays and all ^^
Seriously, thank you so much for all of the support with my cosplay and everything else I do. I never expected all of this. I never expected to have followers who wanted to meet me, or who decided to cosplay because of me, and just… it’s been kind of surreal, and I still don’t quite know how to react except to just keep smiling :)
So here’s to more plus sized cosplay, more black girl geekery, more of me and my wifey going to cons and advertising our art and our book, and just… here’s to all of that.
