Oh hey since I’ve been talking about it on Tumblr here’s a thing I wrote a little bit ago about problematic faves and how we gotta stop trying to protect them because of fan devotion.
You may as well hire a fucking mannequin if you’re gonna hire scarjo of all ppl
I already said this on Twitter but:
ScarJo is the perfect example of what happens when you keep giving problematic folks multiple chances. Now she and the GitS director are at it again. Like screw her and screw him but also screw the ones who keep giving these folks a pass.
Stop enabling them. Just stop.
To add: her response is gross and very “these actors over here did it so why aren’t you yelling at them” as if:
Folks weren’t up in arms when this happened before/continues to happen today
As if one person messing up means that it’s a-ok for folks to keep being whole entire assholes
But seriously, she should’ve been canceled for GitS but if you missed that boat then catch up to the rest of us who have been saying that she’s a problem
I can’t think of any more people off the top of my head but i love all u writers ♡♡ and i have found healing in all your writing ♡♡♡
Ohhhmy God if you guys keep tagging me in this sweet shit I’ll actually die OTL
Spent a solid 2 or 3 months straight (literally would pick up my phone and start reading right when I woke up for the day and until I fell back to sleep) reading BNHA fanfic. Was one of the worse episodes I’ve ever had after one of the shittiest couple of days of my life and pretty much everyone kept me stay sane and afloat. So yeah, thanks guys ♡
PHEW let me tell you how writing fanfiction is reigniting my creativity and how helpful that is to a full-time writer because LOOOOOOORD…
Like yes, writing is fun, but like any career it will BURN YOU OUT. Here’s a look at my day:
Trying to work on a book.
Pitching article ideas on pop culture/social justice/whatever my muses come up with.
Writing scripts for WatchMojo.com.
Writing whatever articles get picked up.
Trying to find events/conventions to go to so I can promote my work (and my partner’s work).
Trying to figure out how to pay for said events unless we get invited, in which case:
Putting together panels/presentations for events/conventions.
Trying to be active/present on social media.
But after stumbling into BNHA and engaging with the fandom and legit signing up for an a03 account and writing for something other than “THIS IS YOUR JOB WRITE ALL THE THINGS” my creative muses are like “THANK GOD FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO WRITE ABOUT SHIPS AND ENJOY A THING FOR SOMETHING OTHER THAN WORK!”
Like I just got edits back for an article I submitted that is a pretty emotionally draining topic (whee for being fat and black and queer and living in this world we live in y’all) and like, it was the LEAST amount of edits I’ve gotten back on a piece in a while, because my brain isn’t fried, because I take time to write about a kid with green hair, freckles, a dream, and a hostile explody dude who serves as his rival/perfect for shipping/whatever I wanna do with it because there’s NO PRESSURE!
So it’s not just the reading of fanfic that helps, writing it helps, too.
you need to stop slaying so i can catch up, boo. *struggles to write fics behind you*
This fandom is so wonderful to fic writers I swear.
The idea of being a “starving artist” ain’t cute. You shouldn’t be out here dying for your passion. Don’t let folks convince you that you should be struggling. Being in a creative field is already hard enough as it is, don’t let them tell you that you shouldn’t be getting paid.
This is the story of a geeky anime/gaming gal by the name of Chibi. Please fasten your seat belts and prepare for... some sort of ride? Oh! I love to write, and I also love doing crafty things. I go to conventions with my partner and sell woodburned things, clocks, mirrors, and more! So expect to see those on here too :)
