Hey, I can't remember if you said so, but are you going to Daisho Con? I might end up going and we DEFINITELY need to get pics together as Tiana/Lottie if you are. :D

I won’t be at Daisho  :(  I’ve actually never been to that one.  See, we thought my wifey had to work weekends so we stopped applying to cons after Metacon, because she was out of PTO.  Then her schedule changed last month so now she has weekends off  >.<  But it’s too late to try for a table.  Though now we get to look at all sorts of cons for next year.

There’s this weird thing with me, sometimes.  Like, sometimes, when people die it feels like, they’re from my parent’s time?  So it sucks, but it’s like, “I don’t know that name too well,” because I was too young.

Then suddenly something like this happens and its like, “Oh man, I know that person.”  Like of course I don’t know them personally, but I grew up with the Simpsons, so it feels like I do, so it… yeah  :(

with all this spying via internet becoming more and more publicly known, aren't you in any way afraid of that? asking 'cause i just realized i'm actually quite selecting whether to post things on facebook (for people i know personally) or on twitter/tumblr (for people who don't know me thaaaaat much really) or elsewhere. do you select some how similar or is there no difference / don't you sense any personal danger out here as i start to? // feel hugged, btw.

I think I have the benefit of being one of those kids whose old enough to remember when the internet was a brand new thing, like, back when AOL was the ONLY option?  I feel like I grew up during the phase where pretty much every adult I knew was paranoid so I got to do the, “It’s not that bad,” and, “Not everyone out there is a creeper,” stuff.  I went through the “DO NO SHARE YOU INFO ONLINE OMG THEY WILL FIND YOU” and got to see a bunch of TV shows do the required episode of “girl meets guy online he’s a creeper.”  I got to see the internet really develop, you know?  And yeah, there will always be the paranoia of, “What if someone finds out stuff I don’t want them to,” but there’s also a bunch of security too.  Also, I feel like if someone really, desperately wanted to find me, they could find me, even if I wasn’t online.  There’s so much information being passed around, even without the internet.  I mean, I worked at GameStop, and with trade-ins alone I got to take in name, address, phone number, license number, and all that.  It’s pawn law here in Minnesota.  I had to take down a bunch of information and put it into the computer.  Not to scare anyone about that, but it’s true.  What if someone was dishonest with that information?  Or the fact that when you buy something that’s expensive in a store, the cashier has to check ID with your card.  We hand over information every day, it’s not worth stressing about.

The internet is really, really helpful in a lot of ways.  Like, there’s no way I could’ve gotten my book out to so many places years ago when, you know, you had to print it and mail it?  Now it’s just an email click away.  Same with resumes, and even things like, cosplay.  That article I wrote?  I wouldn’t have gotten it there so quickly if not for being able to just email that website.  I also get to talk to my friends easily.  A lot of them don’t live here and live all over the country, so it’s a good way to stay in touch.  Not to mention the people I’ve met at cons, or even just online, like this.

And hell, I met my wifey online <3

Personally, I don’t share absolutely everything line.  Like personal family issues I keep to myself unless if it’s, I dunno, “Anniversary of my brother’s death,” but that’s because I feel like really personally information is just for me and the parties involved.
