AnonymousWings are great but I think I’d be really clumsy with them. Walking through my house running into stuff, or being really bad at flying ^^;;; And the whole telekinetic thing, I dunno, all the characters I see who have it seem really stressed out >.< So… maybe I’ll just control the weather, make it 70 degrees all the time :)
or even better sora and the gang are the only ones that CAN’T see it so they get confused whenever the heath bar is brought up
I didn’t realized I needed this until now.
Roseanne and Dan: Kicking parenthood and society in the ass since 1988.
Oh man I remember both of these episodes. There’s also one where they switch which kids they spend time with (like Becky hangs with Dan and Roseanne hangs with Darlene) because they’re worried that, you know, Darlene and Dan click and Becky and Roseanne click which means they don’t click with the other daughter. If I remember right it ends with them realizing that just because Becky isn’t into the “boy things” doesn’t mean Dan loves her less, and just because Darlene isn’t into the “girl things” doesn’t mean that Roseanne loves her less. They just have two different kids who like different things and that’s fine. I also liked how different the kids were, like Becky was so girly and Darlene was like, “Gonna make a comic with my boyfriend and go to writing school,” and it was really cool.
I really loved this series as a whole. I was talking to my partner about this the other day. It was one of the first shows I remember seeing and thinking, “Wow that’s us.” I mean in that working class sort of way. There were episodes where Dan didn’t have a job, episodes where Roseanne had crap jobs to try and make ends meet, I still remember like the episode where she took Darlene’s class to the grocery store because that was part of her day and it was like, “Yeah we buy the non name brand stuff,” and just… that was real to me.
And somehow, they made it work. The lights go out, they made it work. Just things like that were amazing. Shows like this were closer to being like my family, my friends’ families, and everything around me than even the Cosby Show, which I enjoyed watching, but I didn’t have a doctor dad and a lawyer mom, a big house able to house a bunch of kids, and things like that. Neither did any of my friends. Our parents worked at like, the post office, or my best friend lived with her retired grandmother, and things like that.
Not to mention how this show tackled issues like racism, sexism, homophobia, it was all there and I don’t remember really seeing it anywhere else. Remember when Nancy came out? And Leon? Or remember when DJ had to kiss the black girl for a school play? Or when the restaurant was broken into that same episode and they were a touch bit racist because it was a big, black guy and it ended up being the girl’s dad? And how, you know, they were telling DJ not to be racist but, in the end, they were just a touch bit paranoid about the big black guy and it ends with Jackie trying to justify it and Roseanne having this moment of, “Just stop,” because she realizes what she did? Just… damnit I miss shows like this. It was honest and the characters were flawed, because people are flawed, and that’s real.
Those who say the Black Widow’s fighting style is just movie bullshit can see the above. ^ Shit is terrifyingly real.
