Next time you think Batman is a jerk, remember this scene.
He might have an aloof manner and come across as cold or even rude, but deep down he is a unselfish, caring man. Why else would he risk his life night after night to save a city who doesn’t even know his identity? He has to put up a shield in order to deal with the atrocities he sees every night that he puts on the cowl and to distance himself from his Bruce Wayne counterpart. Any “softness” would be perceived as a weakness, and his enemies would be quick to exploit it (Joker has taunted him for his “no kill” rule many, many times).
When she was a small child, Ace accidentally used her telekinetic powers on her parents and sent them into a catatonic state. Afterwards, she was sent to a government training facility so that her powers could be studied. She remained there until Joker abducted her and attempted to harness her powers for his own nefarious purposes. For most of her life, Ace was used and manipulated by others, and as she was dying she had no one to turn to.
But Batman was there. He held her hand and stayed with her until she died, providing her with comfort for the first time in years. He knows what loneliness feels like, and he didn’t want this girl to spend her final hours alone and frightened. And so he sat next to her on the swing, held her hand, and comforted her.
A callous, abrasive jerk wouldn’t do that. But Batman would.
Also, he honors her memory and obviously still thinks about her, because in Batman Beyond, his dog’s name is Ace. And in Batman Beyond, all he really has is the dog until Terry shows up.
Guys.
Guys.
This might be the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen as a pro-marriage equality ad.
WATCH THIS. It’s an Australian ad.
Australia, why do you have the best ads? This is awesome.
Aww omg ;_;
REBLOG UNTIL THE END OF TIME IM GOING TO CRY
I AM GOING TO CRY
I ACTUALLY STARTED TO TEAR UP
omg I teared up. Is it ok for me to say I ship these two? That was just beautiful.
I teared up, this so beautiful! Forever reblog.
Beautiful
Awhh…I’m not even saying this because of the fact that “oh they’re gay that automatically makes everything they do adorable,” but wow, this is so sweet. It really does show that regardless of orientation, love is love. I would say the same thing for a straight, lesbian, or transsexual/transgender relationship.
Oh god I actually am crying right now. This is such a great ad, not just because of the message, but because of how it’s shown to us. You have no idea who the camera person is, you just see them filming this guy who you can tell they absolutely adore. They’ve been through so much together (oh god the part with the mom just, ah!) and really, honestly, by the end of it when he drops to one knee it’s like, “Oh god yes please!” And the same time it’s like, “Wait you’re just now doing this you two are practically married already…” then you see that the camera person is another guy and it’s like, “Oh I see.” Which also hits the message home.
After all they’ve been through, they should’ve been able to do this a long time ago.
babies are naturally able to swim hello they just spent nine moths in amiotic fluid this is instinctive so no, parent is not shitty, parent is re-enforcing baby’s natural instinctive behaviour.
parent is good for doing this because parent is basically saying “yes the behaviours you were born with are great!”
Yup, if babies are ‘taught’ (allowed) to swim before they are six weeks old, they never lose the instincts they were born with that lets them hold their head above water and hold their breath when they need to. SCIENCE, man.
What’s really cool is, humans are the only primates known to have this instinct at birth. Other ape babies would just freak out and drown. So I don’t think it comes from being in amniotic fluid for 9 months (since it’s not like they have room to actually swim in there). It’s been speculated that humans evolved in the ocean at some point, which is a really cool theory that I recommend checking out.
Also, SWIMMING BABY IS ADORABLE.
baby haruka nanase
this is truly amazing :)
This is why I’m able to swim, guys. My rents literally just dunked me in the water after I was born, and I turned out just fine.
This is really cool information. It’s so natural to the baby, look at!
I just find this really adorable ok.
This is the most precious thing on the face of the planet.
oh my goodness
This is precious.
Nagisa keeps texting Rei’s number, keeping him updated with the group and daily happenings. Every time he says goodnight, Nagisa keeps crying himself to sleep.
“You can still get my texts up in Heaven, right?”
OKAY I THOUGHT THIS WAS GONNA BE CUTE BUT NO WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS NOW CAN WE
HAHA HAH AHAHHA HAHAHA
This turned very depressing very quickly :( This reminds me of the conversation my partner and I had:
Me: They can’t kill him no way
Her: Are you sure?
Me: Hnnnnnnnn…
Her: I mean maybe he does die then they’re short a member and then Rin joins them
Me: WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT WHAT THE HELL?!
Any tutorials you guys want? I’ve already had a request to make one for ‘up sizing’ a pattern and I have one written out for mini plushies.
Is there anything else you guys would be interested in?
Hey everyone. My partner/costume maker/wifey/beautiful person is going to start writing tutorials. I will be sure to reblog whatever she writes up (and I’m happy she’s writing one for up sizing a pattern, because honestly no pattern is made for me so she has to get clever with it). Are there any other plus sized tutorials you’d like to see?
Yesterday’s New York Post review of upcoming SyFy reality show, Heroes of Cosplay, angered quite a few of us in…One of the many great responses to the Heroes of Cosplay review that irked many of the community.
What also pisses me off is the fact that, for some reason, cosplay is seen as so weird when there’s so many “normal” things that are just as passionate but aren’t seen as weird.
Face painters at football games, or people who paint their chest, or wear foam cheese on their head. People who will go to these games no matter how hot or cold it is, baseball, football, basketball, whatever who cares. I live in Minnesota and people will trek through the snow to watch a Vikings game. And come now, talking about cosplayers where you wear the team colors to these games and get PISSED OFF if someone in the opposite team colors shows up. Boo them, hiss at them, over clothing. "But it’s part of the entertainment,“ you say, well cosplay is part of my entertainment, too.
Spending a bunch of money to get good seats to a concert that’s for two hours versus spending 25 - 75 dollars for a three day event. Buying T-shirts at said concert for 30+ dollars. Sitting in traffic forever for said concert, only to have the main attraction show up late with no explanation, but whatever, you’re going to go to the concert again when they come back to your city. Also who cares about their personal lives and beliefs, the music is good that’s all that matters right? So what if this person beat up his girlfriend, or watch fans shave their heads because they thought he was sick when it turned out he was perfectly fine, or is sexist of homophobic, whatever who cares the music is off the chain!
Wearing clothing brands that a celebrity wears because they wear it, or listening to a magazine about "what’s hot,” or “this is where you should eat” or hell, listening to a magazine about “how to please him/her.” You’re listening. To printed. Paper. On how. To make. A human being. Happy. And the tips change all the time. "Yes yahoo, please tell me how to get a date.“ Did that sound harsh? Well, you judging me because I like to go to a convention and have fun is harsh too, ESPECIALLY since you didn’t even BOTHER to do RESEARCH!
Cosplay is just another thing that we like that’s part of the entertainment industry. Before you call it weird, look at the things you enjoy everyday and think about what would be seen as weird. You actually spent that much money for a pair of shoes? Weird. You care so much about who wins a football game that you waste your Sunday updating your Facebook status with scores, or you have that "lucky” jersey, or you drop a bunch of money on food and drinks for the Super Bowl: a one day event? Weird. You spend how many hours playing Candy Crush? Weird. You listen to a kid on the radio when you’re twenty years older than him? Weird.
So yeah, watch who you’re calling weird, because guess what? When it comes to entertainment and media, we’re all weird in some way. Unless you can tell me honestly that there’s not anything in the entertainment industry that doesn’t make you excited, then guess what? You have some weird in you.
