Meet Yaya Han, one of the most prominent cosplayers in North America

Holy crap those are all like spot on.

The best part is she’s a really sweet lady in person.  She’s so nice and always appreciates it when people ask for pictures or want pictures with her.  She’s amazing, and if you follow her Facebook she posts awesome progress pictures of her costumes.  Like it’s no secret, she shows you what she does.  She’s a person I’d want to hang out with outside of cosplay if I could.

Free! Sailor Senshi Swim Club

..can we talk about how Tachibana Makoto is literally the male version of Kino Makoto.

Can we talk about how the fact they’re named after Sailor Senshi is actually lampshaded within the series?

And Haruka from Free! loves the water and Haruka from Sailor Moon loves Michiru who used water so IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW OMG!

Gay marriage started here in Minnesota at midnight.  Congratulations to all of the couples who got married/is getting married  :)  My wedding is coming at some point, we want to have enough money saved to make it a spectacularly nerdy event!  The plan is still a Mortal Kombat theme complete with the pastor saying “FINISH HER” for kissing the bride  ^^

I usually don’t take pictures of strangers and post them online but…

Today at Target this lady was being dragged by her two sons into the toy aisle and since I was looking at Transformers I happened to see them go by. These boys were REALLY excited about something and I wasn’t sure what, so out of curiosity I peeked around the “boy’s aisle" and….

They were grabbing tons of different dolls and accessories and begging their mom for them and what she told them was priceless.

She didn’t say no because they were boys who wanted “girl’s toys"….she said,
“You already have Ariel, don’t you want someone else?“
And one of the boys just kept yelling how Ariel was his favorite.

Their mom was just so frustrated and exhausted like they must beg her for princess toys all the time and they probably have so many back at home and I’m sorry but that’s just adorable ;w;

parenting fucking done right

This.  This is wonderful.

  • Why I like them:  Oh lord there’s not enough time to answer!  But honestly, I thought she was really interesting with her shadow and her issues.  I’ve seen female characters try and hold their own in a male dominated world, but not really to the point of disgusing themselves as a man.  And I feel like her reason was so normal, as in, it wasn’t some super epic warrior woman trying to hold her own with some muscled guys, it’s a girl in Japan trying to be a detective.  I feel like her reasons are relatable, in Japan, in the U.S., in everything.  She wants to be taken seriously in her career, and even to this day there’s some, “Girls cant’ do this,“ stigmas in places and it gets irritating.  Hell I worked at fucking GameStop and got that all the time, “Girls don’t play games,” for fucks sake just stop!
  • Why I don’t:  I really like everything about Naoto, the thing I don’t like sometimes is the fandom and the “great debate" of trans or not.  Honestly, I can go either way, I love Naoto no matter what.  I think a trans interpretation is interesting, and so is the “actually she’s a woman she just wants to be taken seriously" angle.  I hate when people start pulling from the game to say “NO IT’S CANON IT SAYS THIS!“  Yeah sure, but honestly you can find support for either side.  By the end of the social link she says she’s a woman and a detective.  But her shadow spoke of an operation and she still dresses like a boy the entire game.  You can take both of those things and interpret it how you want.  I don’t care how you see her (or him if you think trans), just don’t fight about it.
  • Favorite episode (scene if movie):  Shadow confrontation, actually her breaking down.  I feel like hers was the most heartbreaking to watch, especially in the anime, because she was all alone.  She faced it alone.  They weren’t in the room with her, she was alone.  And they weren’t really friends, not yet.  They spent some time together on the field trip but that was it.  And she set herself up intentionally to find out what was going on, versus everyone else who got taken.  I like the confrontation because I feel like a lot of women can relate to that feeling of not being good enough because of things you can’t control: gender, age, ect.  You can be really good at what you do but sometimes you still get the, “Ugh you’re just a girl.”
  • Favorite season/movie:  Whenever she’s in the anime/game.
  • Favorite line:  "That’s what comes with underestimating me,“ or something like that.
  • Favorite outfit:  The one with the yellow tie, because my weakness is girls in ties.  I also really, really like her new winter outfit.
  • OTP:  KANJI AND NAOTO OMG JUST OMG!  Also new OTP is Eren and Naoto, as in Eren from Attack on Titan.  Don’t ask how it happened it just did.
  • Brotp:  Rise and Naoto or Souji and Naoto, these are both Brotps I can see with them talking her into talking to Kanji.
  • Head Canon:  Some days, she likes taking the “guy” thing to the next level.  She has a strap on and loves to use it on Kanji, who loves wearing high heels.
  • Unpopular opinion:  Probably the headcanon above?  Because I don’t mind Naoto being seen as female or male, but my personal headcanon is that she accepts herself as female but enjoys some moments like what I mentioned with Kanji.
  • A wish:  That the fandom would stop arguing about her and Kanji and gender and sexuality and thinking that Atlus failed them somehow.
  • An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen:  So far so good with her, I tend to like everything, or at least be interested enough.  I mean I’ve heard bad things about persona x detective but I still want to try it because it’s Naoto.  I even made it through Perofella, so… I don’t think there’s much they can do.  I guess the only thing I could ever think of is that if the characters were somehow in Persona 5, please don’t have her not being a detective.  Even if it’s to say she settled down and married Kanji, don’t take the detective away from her, because I think it’s cool and it would take a LOT for her to stop.  If anything, they’d get married, and she’d be the one working everyday.
  • 5 words to best describe them:  Determined.  Intelligent.  Impressive.  Calculating.  Caring (even if she might not show it right away, you know it’s there).
  • My nickname for them:  "Madame’s little boy.“  It’s a headcanon thing.  Kanji is “Madame” and Naoto is Madame’s “little boy.“  Also she gets called “Little Bug” by Eren from Attack on Titan because when he’s in titan form she looks like a little bug since he’s so big.
