Hello everyone!  Sorry I haven’t been doing much writing lately.  Anime Detour is only 2 weeks away so its crunch time on getting things done for my table.  I thought I’d share some pics of what I’ve been up to.

1.  Shin Megami Tensei tarot card coaster set!  There’s only 8 more left to woodburn, but the picture shows that I, indeed, have every single card that shows up in Persona 3 and Persona 4 :)

2.  Sebastian Michaelish woodburning.  For Anime Detour’s charity auction to hopefully be signed by the voice actor and put up for bid.  His eyes are painted red because he’s “one hell of a…” yeah you know the saying.

3.  Eva unit 01 woodburning.  For sale at my table along with a whole bunch of other things.

4.  Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop.  For sale at my table along with a whole bunch of other things.

Also at the table I’ll have business cards for my book, “Treat Me Kindly,” since they came in a week earlier than expected  :)  I’ll be spending this weekend writing, since I have a short story to look over and edit by Monday.  Whee, busy busy busy!

OMG!  Last woodburning done before the weekend!  Cowboy Bebop, man, where do I begin?  Despite how many times Cartoon Network has played this (are they still playing it?) I still have so much love for this series.  I thought a cool, silhouette of Faye Valentine would be great for a last big woodburning for Anime Detour.  If I magically have time left in the next two weeks I might do another big burning, but I doubt that I will, so Faye is the last one for this con  :)

Finished building the Cygnar Stormwall, another commission due before I left.  I magnetized the arms, so the ball joints are now semi-posable!  The socket is extremely thin, though. There is no back to the magnets, they’re basically hanging in the holes I made. Hopefully that’ll be alright. We’re going to base in some trees when it’s done, so it’ll be like he’s smashing through it. I want to airbrush and rust-effects this when I get back.

A project my hubby has been working on. I cannot wait to see this painted…! There was a HELL of a lot of flash and errors in the molds on this one, so it’s exciting to see it has come together so nicely in the end…!

His arms are attached with magnets!! Ffff! So that makes them slightly posable, and way easier to paint and modify later. Like putting stuff in his hands, or changing out the arm for a different one entirely. Really neat!!

OMG this is like my favorite husband and wife team I swear.  I didn’t know Kanji… urm… Simon could build things!  That’s awesome.  You guys need to live closer like now and build me things and draw me things.  I’ll feed you, and we can rave about Kanji and Naoto, and you can pet my kitty!

The many faces of rape.

This makes me sick to my stomach. 

As disturbing as this is, I think it’s important to give these women voices.  They are survivors.

These are terribly heartbreaking to read.  And that’s the point.  Stop making assumptions about rape based on stupid things like clothing or women walking alone at night.  None of that crap matters.  None of it.  Some of these women were CHILDREN.  One was raped by her friend.  Her FRIEND.  It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing, or where you are, or who you’re with, or how old you are.  Rape doesn’t discriminate.  And I know this post doesn’t include it, but sometimes, men are victims of rape, too.  Rape doesn’t give a flying fuck, o.k.?  So stop trying to figure it out.   It’s wrong.  No matter what the situation is.  Period.

Devil Survivor 2: The Animation

Guys help I’m listening to the Final Fantasy X soundtrack and am having feelings while I sketch. I miss this game :(

Newest woodburning done!  My wifey brought it to my attention that I should make a couple of big ones for the table to sell since Sebastian turned out so nice. First up is Evangelion. With 3.0 being a thing I figured it would be a good idea :)

This took… a whole day, just like Sebastian did :) One more big woodburning to go then back to burning the coasters that are left.
