So someone told me today, that they don’t like Kanji and Naoto as a pairing, but they like my writing.  And like… I just think that’s an amazing compliment, and it made my writing heart go pitter-patter.

Though I was at work when I saw this comment and couldn’t stop smiling, so I was hoping that no one wandered over like, “Hey Bri why ya smilin’ so much?”  Because trying to explain that you’re smiling because someone likes your writing for two fictional characters even if they don’t like those two fictional characters together… then explaining that yes you write two fictional characters together… yeah… though that one girl in the office did bring up fanfiction, so that’s cool yeah?

I’m supposed to be working, but no jobs have come through for us to proofread  :)

It was my friends Michael and Jonathan, so definitely no hatred there  ^^

52. Are you nice to everyone?

I’m only nice to the people who deserve it.  I don’t remember there being a time where I was intentionally not nice to someone, but that’s because the people I hang around are people I like  :)  I also don’t work retail anymore so I don’t have random annoying people coming into my life on a regular basis, lol!  My mom has taught me the fine art of not having drama in your life, and if it’s there, to just leave it alone because it’s unnecessary. 

53. Have you ever liked someone you didn’t expect to?

Yep!  My partner.  At the time I thought that girls were supposed to be with guys, so when I started to like her, I actually avoided her! 

54. Do you think you can last in a relationship for 6 months and not cheat?

Already have.  It’s been 11 years  :)

55. Are you good at hiding your feelings?

Somewhat?  Usually my partner can tell if something is bugging me, so it’s best to just be open about them to her.  When I was working retail, however, I mastered hiding my frustrations with certain customers.  You kind of have to wear that smile no matter what.  The only time I think I actually let that slip is if someone was being intentionally douchy, like, “That’s so gay,” or, “Do you even play games, you’re a girl,” and things like that.

56. Do you think you like someone?

It’s more than like at this point  :)  It’s borderline obsession for Kanji and Naoto… although I suppose I have this significant other like person too…

57. Have you kissed someone whose name starts with a ‘J’?

Partner’s real name starts with a J so yep!

58. Do you prefer to be friends with girls or boys?

I don’t have a preference so long as they treat me with respect  :)

59. Has anyone of your friends ever seen you cry?

Yeah, though it comes with the friendship territory.  Real feels see you at your best and your worst.

No one I know in real life, mostly just close-minded people in general, or people who are sexist/racist/homophobic and all that jazz.

That quote always struck a sour chord with me, but this rendition of it brought it to a new light for me.

I still dislike the original quote and its connotations, but this is refreshing.

It seems that I have a few followers who go to cons and things.  What cons are you all going to?  My crazy convention plans are as follows:

Anime Detour:  April

Anime Central:  May

Animinneapolis:  June

Anime Iowa:  July (pending on table acceptance)

Geek.Kon:  August (pending on table acceptance)

Fallcon: September or October, whenever it is this year (pending on table acceptance)

The first three cons we got tables for and are ready to go!  Anime Central I’ve gone to several times, but this is the first year with a table, so I’m super excited/PANICING LIKE CRAZY since the biggest con I’ve had a table at is Anime Detour, which is about 5000 people?  Anime Central is like… 5 times that amount?  Don’t have too many new cosplay plans, BUT, there are clothing plans.  My partner is making us video game themed dresses, and my Sukuna Hikona hoodie should be done by Detour  ^^  For funz and lulz I’ll probably touch up the Flo costume, and do Tiana and Belle (especially at Anime Central since I haven’t been there in years and I love those dresses)

If any of you lovely people are at these cons, please feel free to swing by my table and say hi!  It’ll be the one with clocks, and mini plushies, and mirrors, and hats, and ponies, and just random things.  By then, we hope to have nifty tablets and things, so we can post via the con  :)  Tell me that you know me from tumblr, I’d love to get to know all of you if I can.  Also, if you have any suggestions on cons to go to in the Midwest, let me know!  We’re always looking for new venues.  This is the most we’ve ever had planned.  We never imagined that we’d be doing this as an actual small business venture, going to several cons instead of the two we use to attend for fun, so this is great!

Seishiro and Subaru from Tokyo Babylon/X1999.  Canonly, the angstiest boys love pairing you could ever have, and you can’t ever tell me otherwise.  They’re the reason why I don’t ever want to touch those series again, and they’re on my list of favorite anime of all time.  I just can’t go through that hurt ever again.

So the debate is back.  You know, the Persona 4 fandom debate that happens every couple of months or so about Kanji and Naoto.  I don’t really mind, it happens, and is bound to come up as newcomers enter the fandom, whether it be from Golden or the anime or just finally getting around to P4.  Let’s face it, regardless of my love for them, they’re interesting characters and bring up issues that haven’t really been addressed in a game before (or, at least, not in so much detail, to the point of facing yourself and accepting who you are and things like that).

So I don’t mind the debate, I don’t mind what side people take, because it’s really up to how you interpret it.  As I’ve said before, for every piece of evidence that “clearly states” one thing, you can find something that “clearly states” something else.  It’s fandom, that’s what we do, that’s how it works.  

But one thing I don’t understand is how people think Atlus or SMT or whoever somehow “copped out” with these characters.
