This.  Just… yeah, this.  I agree with all the comments here.  Yeah, sure, he came out and said it during an election year, but if he were really out to get votes, this actually was the worst thing he could’ve said, considering the backlash (check out the first comment here, where FOX actually took down the comments because of all the hate that filled them.).  So I’d like to think that’s it’s for more than just votes.  And you know what, if it is, then he’s got mine.  I don’t get into politics too much, but a lot of people have already said something very important: think of the alternative choices right now?  No one else out there has the GLBT community’s back on this.  And don’t think this just effects them, it effects all of us.  If you take a closer look at that law in North Carolina, for example, it not only effects gay people, but straight people too.  A good, straight friend of mine pointed it out to me and is outraged, because that law only recognizes married couples.  Period.  She’s been with her boyfriend for ten years and, in that state, they wouldn’t be recognized.  And they’re straight!  Newsflash, some people just don’t WANT to get married, and some people do.  Why deny people who DO?  

This is about a basic, human right.  And here’s someone coming out to support that.  We need to go out there and make our voices heard.  If you really feel that this is just for votes, then you know what?  Give him your votes.  Go out there and let your voice be heard so he can make good on his word.  But, as I said, out of all the things to show support of, this is a big risk.  This is such a hot button issue and there’s a lot of people out there being negative (I’ve seen some of those original comments on FOX who, by the way, called it a “War on Marriage” before changing THAT title.  They were hateful and disgusting, and threatening his life, and just… it’s sad and sick), it’s time for us to rally together, yes?    

Randomly, I can’t wait to go to PRIDE this year, I feel like it’s going to be HUGE from this turn of events.

This was actually a fear of mine, not so much anymore since our families seem o.k. with it now, but it was and still kinda is.  I mean, what happens if something does happen to one of us?  I don’t think either of our families would deny one of us things, but to the government we’d be two women living together, nothing more.  We have the house, travel together, have a joint bank account, make things together and have our own little side business, it’s really awful that we have all of those things but still can’t do something like get married.  Hell, when doing taxes only one of us can file for the house.  It’s OUR house, but only one person can file, that’s just the most backwards thing ever!  That will always blow my mind.  I don’t believe in too many things, but this is something I believe in, and not just because I’m with her, but because it’s such a dumb thing to deny someone of.  If you’re going to let same sex couples do all of the things married people do, why not just take that last step?  My partner and I have all the things a married couple have, just not the title.  Come.  On!  That’s just stupid!

And for those who are curious, my partner and I have been together for 10 years, 11 this October.  You mean to tell me that two women can have a relationship for THAT long and CAN’T get married?  If I were with a man, people would be telling him to put a ring on my finger (actually she gave me a ring years ago, but you get my point).

Agree!  Don’t assume I don’t know these things, yo!  

Went in to work today (GameStop) to see that we’re pre-ordering Persona 4: The Golden for the Vita.  Now I have to get a Vita, but at least I have until October.  Yep, I pre-ordered it already, because I’m a Persona 4 freak I thought hey, why not, might as well because I’m going to get it anyway when it comes out, and there might be nifty pre-order bonuses  :)

Now that I’m done fangirling (not really done, but now coherent) it’s SPECULATION TIME!  

I notice on the cover that there seem to be some sort of shadows on the side there, and unless if I’m looking at it wrong, there seems to be some gray thing with a red eye.  So perhaps this case dips into the supernatural, like the Inaba one did?  That would be really cool, actually.  

I also notice that long haired Naoto has long hair like her third persona, or rather, her third persona has long hair and Naoto does now too.  Coincidence?  Hmmm…

Does she keep in contact with the gang I wonder?  I certainly hope so (Kanji and Naoto feelings Kanji and Naoto feelings), I hope there’s some cameos to show the others one year later, because I’m curious (and since Yuu/Souji left too, it would be easy to have him show up).  Maybe even something small, like her having a group picture, or something to show that the others aren’t forgotten.  

Now, originally, I thought the book was taking place in like, her last year of high school?  Now it’s saying it’s a year after P4.  Isn’t that when the fighting game takes place?  I was wondering why, in the game, the entire crew is wearing the high school uniform except her, does she not attend school with them anymore?  Is she going off to solve crimes all around the world like an ace?  I wonder if the game will have a tie in with the book, like, you beat it with her and she goes off, or something.  

I’m assuming we’re getting a slew of new characters, I wonder what they’ll be like. I don’t think this book would make it here, sadly, I mean not even the manga is here in the U.S.  I’m such a dork though I still feel like I want to have it in my collection next to the other Shin Megami things  ^^  I hope she’s still the same person I fell in love with, I mean with the investigating and deducing and analyzing and all that along with being a bit socially awkward.  Though I’m proud of her for accepting herself, at least from the looks of the cover she has with her hair flowing and the bindings appear to be gone.  This makes me wonder… did she just cut her hair for years and finally just stopped?

I’m a little sad that she doesn’t have her hat, but still. She looks so cool! I hope (although sort of doubt) that this light novel will be translated and sent to the US.

If this is genuine artwork, Naoto aged a *lot* in one year. Very pleased about the bike, though. And she kept the ties \o/

Oh my fucking… shit Naoto, you just… wow.  It looks like the chest bindings are gone too, so I suppose she’s accepted herself as a woman and realized that women are, indeed, bad ass.  Look at her!  She’s turned into a bad ass, motorcycle riding cop.  Be still my heart!  And look at all that hair!  And the tie!  Just… please Naoto, go back to Inaba at the end of your novel to present yourself to Kanji (or keep in touch with him throughout the novel).  Please, someone animate this into an OVA just so I can see her riding after some criminals to some epic music.  

I’d be more surprised about how much she’s changed in one year but hey, this is video gaming, and I still remember reading Yu Yu Hakusho and seeing Kurama change from this short haired kid who was Hiei’s height to this tall, elegant, long haired thing of beauty in a year.
