white feminism strikes again, demonizing black women and deeming them unfit to be “feminists” for having sexual agency while simultaneously babying men so they don’t feel complicit in misogyny  

what is this trash?

People do realize that feminism isn’t a competition, right?  We’re not trying to out feminist each other.  The definition of feminism is equality for everyone, trying to outdo one another with who’s the biggest feminist literally goes against what feminism is.  We’re about working together, not tearing each other apart.

So stop.

the problem people have with it is the concept that white feminism.  Its the concept of a woman of color using feminism they are called out and are judged for “using the movement for their own gain” or they are too sexual even though at the same time a white woman does it and its applauded.  While yeah Emma is cool, people are mainly upset that it looks like another instant of white feminism is made to be more superior over other forms of feminism.  but i completely agree with you bri, feminism should not be a competition

I mean the whole, “Dur hur hur sorry Beyonce but you lost this time,” and just… pretty sure she didn’t do that to win some contest?  Spoiler: neither did Emma Watson.  They spoke out about feminism because they’re feminists, not to outdo the next girl.  Pretty sure they were both applauding each other for speaking out and aren’t like, “Ugh can’t believe she’s trying to outdo me I AM SUPREME FEMINIST!”
