14. Three games that everyone should play? Just three, huh? Hmmm… Persona 4, definitely, hands down, if for nothing else for the message of the game of facing yourself and accepting yourself. Portal is definitely one of the coolest, quirkiest, most interesting things I’ve played. Combining a puzzle with a shooter, which an interesting story, and great humor? This game is definitely a must. Guilty Gear for 2D fighters. I love so many fighters (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Soul Calibur, BlazBlue, just… give me a fighter and I’ll play it), but there’s something special about Guilty Gear. It’s so unique, I think, with the characters and their abilities, even the back story is really cool. As much as I want like, Persona 5 and Kingdom Hearts 3 and stuff, I would just DIE if they actually made a Guilty Gear that continued where X2 left off (NOT Overture though, just… no).
21. Games I love that no one else seems to… um… I guess I can point to Guilty Gear again, but mostly because not too many people seem to know what it is? There’s definitely not enough talk about like, the Katamari series. I think there’s just games I play that aren’t as popular, like No More Heroes, or things like that. It’s not exactly hate, just… not as popular as other huge titles.
I guess one coming out that I’m excited for but people keep protesting is like, the new Devil May Cry remake. People are fussy over Dante’s new look and I’m like, “But… the game looks awesome!” I trust the studio behind it, because I loved Heavenly Sword and Enslaved, I just hope it’s longer than those games were.
22. Final Fantasy 13. That’s definitely a game people like that I don’t get. Like, that whole… I guess it’s a trilogy now? It’s kinda… weird though, because I’ve never actually met someone who LOVES them, everyone seems to admit the faults, but… they keep playing them? Me? I gave up after the first one, just… I beat it and I was done, and I’m kind of impress that I hung in for that long.
There’s also the normal Call of Duty like games that I just… I can’t get into them.
Something coming up that I wish I was more excited about is the Tomb Raider remake. I’m just… so scared. I just hate that Laura Croft’s franchise remake has her so… scared and kinda pathetic. I mean, Dante and Kratos are getting remakes, they still get to remain their bad ass selves. Laura is just… I dunno, I… and then there was that “rape” comment the studio made a couple of months ago (they later retracked it), something like her almost being raped, or something, and there’s a scene in the trailer where you can tell where it’s leading and just… this is my gamer girl talking, but why does the woman have to be so beaten up but the guy remakes are still cool? I understand building up a character, but… I mean there’s the one game where she’s in the plane crash as a kid with her mom, and she’s so… brave! She doesn’t close her eyes, she says she’s not scared, just… where is that Laura? You can make a remake for her and NOT kill the character so much.
Reminds me of Other M. Uuuuuuuugh Other M, why Samus why?! I would add that to my list of games people love that I hate, but I don’t know anyone who loves it.
