(Just noticed this, but I practically teared up again at how he can barely keep still or look at the phone before he tells him but in the last scenes he’s just staring at it and listening to his father with such love and adoration.)

Look at how hard it is for him to tell his dad - there’s that fear of rejection and revulsion and all of those really tough emotions.

And then look at that smile in the last gif. 

Parenting: you’re doing it right.

That last gif though, I mean just… I mean…

It’s not even about the confession.  It IS, but at the same time it isn’t.  Like it proves how much this father loves his son, he’s like, “I still love you,” and all of that, but then he’s like, “It sure is good to hear your voice, bud.”  Like, he’s still his bud, and all he’s thinking about is that he’s so happy to hear from him.  It’s like, his son being gay?  He really, truly doesn’t care, all that matters is that his son just called him and it means so much to him.  You can just HEAR their voices when you look at these, and just… 

Parents, you have no idea how much your love means to us.
