All of you guys cause me to do this.

Sappy story time!

In college I studied abroad in London for 3 weeks one summer.  Despite the time different, I would stay up and chat online with my partner (this was about 4 years into our relationship I believe, and was predominantly long distance)  There’s a 6 hour difference between London and the U.S., so when she was up until like, say, midnight, it would be 6 a.m.  There are two times I remember doing this that my classmates called crazy:

1.  Before I went to Paris for a weekend, I stayed up all night talking to her. Literally.  We left to catch the train to Paris at about 5 am London time, and I just stayed up chatting with her until we left.  I slept for 2 hours on the train, sort of, because I wanted to watch the scenery too.  After that, we walked around Paris ALL DAY until we went to check in at the small hotel we were staying at.  And I mean small.  And it was super hot so I barely got any sleep!  By some dumb luck, the next day, we ended up staying at a much better hotel at EuroDisney, but instead of exploring the park, I FINALLY got some sleep.

2.  Our class was leaving at 7 am on day to take a bus trip to see Shakespeare’s birth place.  I stayed up until we left and sort of slept on the bus.  Not only did I explore the area with everyone and catch a Shakespeare play, I went and saw Star Wars: Episode Three with some friends.

Just… it was my first time out of the country and I just wanted to keep talking to her.  The kicker?  This was on a classmate’s laptop, he was nice enough to let me stay up and use it  :)
