I’m not in the most cheery mood today, not at all, but I’ll try to be as collective as possible about this. So…right after my mood dropped, I came across a certain post that really didn’t get me angry but I just shook my head to. It regards…PONIES.

I know there’s people who don’t like them, I won’t force my taste onto anyone else, but seriously, it’s been an ongoing trend since the peek of the internet. Long before “Friendship is Magic” came rolling around, every fandom has received at least one pony-fied character. This is a known rule of the internet: “If it exist, there’s a pony version of it”. Yes, FiM made the trend more popular, that I won’t deny. It just surprises me how flabbergasted some people act towards this. Some seem to be a little too prejudice though, claiming that it’s “ruining” their fandom.

And now for the most cliched statement to ever be said regarding this:

If you don’t like ponies, fine. If you hate it to the bitter core, kudos to you. I’m only gonna say this: keep away from it and don’t make us MLP fans feel bad about it. We don’t do it to spite you, we do it for fun. It makes several of us happy. And despite what some may believe, a lot of people within this community are amazing. You can complain all you want, but that shouldn’t stop us from drawing/doing what we want, crossovers and all. Be mature about it and suck it up! Ponies have always been here and they’re here to stay.

Now if you excuse me, I’m going to distract myself with a few MLP doodles. Peace.

I’m not the biggest pony fan in the world.  I think they’re cute, I think some of the ponified characters I’ve seen are adorable.  I’ve seen some episodes and its fun.  Am I obsessed?  No, not at all.  Does that mean I RAGE when I see pony things?  No, not at all.  What’s the poiny in doing that?

This applies to every fandom, every… thing really.  There’s a whole bunch of things that happens in fandom, the easy solution is to just move on.  No one is making you like ponies, or whatever it is about a fandom that you don’t like.  It’s, you know, fandom, there’s a bunch of people in it and you’re not going to like everything you see.  So just… ignore it and move on.  Some people don’t like genderbending characters, or like characters being paired with other characters, and just… the list goes on, o.k.?  It’s FANDOM!  That’s like… you like cookies, but you don’t like lemon cookies, so you decide to bash people who do and complain about how stupid lemon cookies are and just… it’s cookies!  Do you know how vast the cookie spectrum is?

Now if you don’t like ponies, for example, and someone is in your face like, “OMG YOU HAVE GOT TO LIKE PONIES OR ELSE YOU SUCK” then that’s a different story.  I’ve gone through that before, with Evangelion for example, “OMG IT’S THE BEST ANIME EVER, YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED IT, WHAT KIND OF ANIME FAN ARE YOU, YOU’RE NOT A REAL ANIME FAN AT ALL!”  Now THAT is when you can be like, “GET OUT OF MY FACE!”  In fact, that’s why I never finished the series, because THAT was my introduction to it, “You haven’t seen it, you suck,” literally, just no.  If you don’t like lemon cookies and someone shoves one in your mouth, that’s different.  But, most likely, this isn’t the case.  It’s a post in the tag you follow.  Just keep scrolling.  You’re out at a cookie shop and 10 people are eating your favorite: chocolate chip cookies, and one person is minding their business, eating lemon.  Just let it go.  Don’t go up to that person and slap the cookie out of their hand.

(sorry I like cookies hence the analogy)

It’s like, if you don’t like Homestuck, you don’t like it, there’s no point in yelling about it, or complaining about the fans, or complaining because someone put Homestuck characters in like, the Yasogami uniform, or… something, things like that.  Just don’t participate in that fandom.  This goes for aspects of fandom too.  If you’re in a fandom and, suddenly, they’ve turned characters into ponies, just scroll past the post.  There’s no point in complaining, it’s not going to stop.

It’s like reading fics.  You click on the Persona 4 box, there’s 5 Kanji and Naoto fics out of 50, don’t flame those 5 fics,.

In general, just play nice.  There’s going to be something in your fandom you don’t like, that’s how it goes, but you’re in the fandom for the things you DO like, so enjoy those things.
