UNPOPULAR OPINION CHALLENGE!

2. A selection of musical artists you do not care for.

This is kinda tough since I don’t listen to too much “popular” music.  Most artists I stop liking are because the radio plays them way, way too much.  Like “Fun.”  They sound great, but omg every time I turn on the radio it’s the same song.  I know they have more than one, but it’s the same one!

4. A hobby you “don’t get”.

I probably shouldn’t judge too much since my own hobbies probably look weird, lol.  A lot of times it’s something that I’m not into, but I get?  Like, sports fanatics.  I grew up with a football/basketball fan of a mom.  I’m from Chicago, and once upon a time the Bulls won a whole lot, and I remember it was fun to celebrate even if I’m not a sports person.

Oh wait!  Just thought of something.  One thing I don’t get (which I’m not sure if this is a hobby) is like, people who like to do dangerous things.  You know, sky diving, and the sort of thing that can get you killed if you’re not careful.  Or chasing tornadoes, or looking for paranormal things.  Just… yeah, no thanks.

6. Something in school you really liked doing that everyone else bitched over.

Homework.  No, seriously, in high school I was suuuuuuuch a nerd. Math was my favorite.  You would think I’d say Art, right, with all of my crafting?  But… Algebra and Trigonometry, just… I was all over it.  Always had my homework done, always got good grades.  I was at the top of my class.

8. Popular video games that make you go “meh”.

Call of Duty or war shooters in general.  There’s just so many of them, and there’s this thing I have with games that come out every year (Madden, for example) that just… I can’t get excited.  It’s like, “Oh great a new one… I’ll see you with upgrades next year.”  There was this period of time (not sure if it’s still the case since I’m not at GameStop anymore) where there was some sort of Call of Duty every year.  And I swear, no one cared about the story, they just wanted to play online.  And just… I need a good story.  It doesn’t have to be stellar, but… something that makes me care for the characters.  And the only thing I’d hear about with CoD is online, zombies, and more online.  So… yeah.  It’s not my thing.  I don’t care if other people like it because you can like what you like, but I won’t be playing it.

10. A sport you don’t like, for whatever reason.

I think baseball is boring to watch, along with tennis and golf.  My mom was football and basketball so even if I’m not really a sports person, I can watch a game and be interested.

Unless of course if it’s an anime version with cute boys in swim trunks?  Har har har…

12. Television programs you love but have gotten shit for liking.

All right guys, here is my bad confession.  I love terrible reality shows.  Not like Survivor, but like… Hell’s Kitchen, and Top Model (at least I use to love Top Model not so much anymore).  I have no idea WHY I’m into these shows.  Just… I guess it’s the trainwreck?  Even now, as I write this, season three of Hell’s Kitchen is playing in the background.  It’s my background noise as I craft.

I also love Maury.  I… I don’t know why.  I really don’t.  It’s a terrible show.  It really is.  But… just, I will watch the hell out of it.

14. A hobby you have/find interesting that other people bother you over/make fun of.

Actually… no one really bothers me over the things I do.  The people in my life are supportive over me crafting, or my anime and video games.  If anything, it would be people outside my circle at like, GameStop, “Dur hur hur do you really play games?”  Those people aren’t in my life anymore, so whatever.  I mean, I guess my mom use to give me crap for being so geeky, but it wasn’t really serious?  Like she doesn’t care.  She hates anime, but she doesn’t care that I’m into it.  She loves my quirkiness  :)

16. Something in school you hating doing and it felt like everyone else loved.

Everyone around me seemed to be dating.  It just… wasn’t high on my list of things to do.  But girls were dating and having sex, and I just… I mean I was curious, but I wasn’t upset that I didn’t have those things.  I DID have a boyfriend eventually, when I was 17 (last year of high school) but before that I… I dunno, I mean for a while I think I thought there was something wrong with me?  Because why was everyone else boy crazy and I wasn’t?  And I don’t think it was because, “Oh I like girls hahahahaha,” I just hadn’t met someone I really, really wanted to be with.  I had crushes, but I wasn’t one of the “hot popular” girls so it would never go anywhere.

18. A selection of video games that you enjoy that perhaps you really shouldn’t.

Hrm… I… I don’t know?  My collection is on display so it’s not like there’s a game I’m hiding from people.  There’s some “terrible” games that amuse me, like “Chaos Legion” for PS2.  The story is shit, but it’s fun hack and slash, so I have it.  "Rule of Rose" has hoooooorrible gameplay, but… the story is interesting.  There are games I have just to finish off the collection.  I own “Guilty Gear Overture” for example but I don’t like the game at all.  I also own the “Yu Yu Hakusho” PS2 game which is also terrible.  And I have my crazy franchises, like “Katamari” or the Japanese “Elite Beat Agents” and things like that.

As much crap as I give some things (like the Nintendo Wii or Square Enix) I can’t deny that I did enjoy them for a period of time.  Part of me is still hopeful for Square Enix to do something that amazes me again, they haven’t really blown me away in a long, long time, so… I’m just waiting.  As for the Wii, it was super casual yes, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I abused my poor Wii during Smash Brothers and other first party games where I would STAY UP ALL NIGHT PLAYING.  Nintendo is good at that when they actually try.

20. Free rant on whatever grinds your gears at the moment.

I do that all the time  ^^  Well actually… I have one.  I wish people would stop, you know, ship wars.  They’re pointless.  There’s always going to be people who don’t see things your way, there’s no need to get upset.  There’s also no need to bash people for liking a certain ship.  I don’t know how this keeps coming up in the Kanji and Naoto ship.  It seems like every couple of weeks there’s a post/confession or whatever of, “I don’t like Kanji and Naoto.”  That’s fine.  You don’t have to like them  :)  But then the fans of the pairing flip out.  I find this interesting, because I don’t think I’ve seen this done so fiercely as it is for Kanji and Naoto?  Like I see so many Kanji and Naoto fans bashing Souji and Naoto, but I don’t see Souji and Naoto fans biting back?  Like there’s this long list of reasons I’ve seen to hate Souji and Naoto, but I haven’t really looked in the Naoto tag to see a Souji and Naoto fan going, “OH YEAH?!  LET ME SHOW YOU A THING!”

It’s so weird, because the confession post will be so simple for Kanji and Naoto, “They’re not my cup of tea,” then it’s like, “OH YEAH LET ME SHOW YOU A THING!”  You… don’t have to do that.  There’s evidence to support both sides.  It’s fandom, not everyone is going to see your ship.  There’s no need to research evidence to back up your pairing.  You like them because, well, you like them  :)

Now if someone directly messages you like, “You’re stupid for liking these two,” or makes a post like, “Kanji and Naoto fans are stupid,” then… that’s a bit different.  You’re free to not like the pairing, but that doesn’t mean you bash the fans that do.  The thing I’m talking about are those simple post of, “I don’t care for this pairing,” not something like, “Ugh fans of this thing are sooooooooooo annoying like shut up already dayum!”
