And in that moment everyone realized that Forrest knew. He knew he was “special” and not like everyone else despite going to regular school and college. He knew that he wasn’t like everyone else mentally and his biggest fear was that his son would have to face life like that too. The bullies, the name calling, the confusion, everything. This broke my heart because all he wanted was a better life for his son in every way.

Oh god like, I haven’t watched this movie in forever but every time I hear it mentioned or see it I get emotional.  I mean I have the box of chocolate bluray set sitting in my collection and haven’t watched it, because its one of those movies I have to be ready for.  I have to be ready to have my heart broken.

I also think it’s one of those movies that got better when I got older.  Sort of like “Joy Luck Club.”  Like, before, it was a good movie, but as I got older I caught things like this and realized, wow, just… wow  ;__;
