I notice people get really heated over kanji x naoto stuff??? like, chill out no need to take it out on anyone just because you don’t agree with them. It’s nice to consider what might be true to canon and stuff, but at the end of the day shipping is for, you know, fun. Besides, Kannao is such a malleable shipping situation how could you spoil it by sticking to and defending only one interpretation???
There are a lot of ways people ship them and I think all of them are interesting! Whether Naoto identifies as trans or not„, whether Kanji is gay, straight, etc. There are a lot of ways to interpret these characters! Not even just these 6.
But if you feel otherwise that’s totally okay and I love hearing everyone’s interpretations and stuff because stuff like that is cool!!
Yes yes. This this this. Yes good. There are so few ships I have where I can take a couple and ship them in so many ways, which is why I get so sad when “the big debate” comes up. Like, this ship is kind of a creative goldmine, if you ask me. Het, yaoi, hell yuri (come on Kanji wears a dress and hopes he’ll look pretty), just… the possibilities are endless. So when we get flooded with, “Kanji isn’t this,” or, “Naoto isn’t this,” it’s like… guys can’t we just have fun? I love all of the interpretations, honestly. Girl Naoto, Boy Naoto, in the process of becoming a boy Naoto, trying to accept herself as a girl Naoto, gay Kanji, straight Kanji, curious about wearing a dress again Kanji, black haired and trying to be proper Kanji, just friends kannao, one sided kannao, future kannao, shadow kannao, kannao with other characters (Rise, Souji/Yu, hell I’ve read them with Yosuke even) just… take your pick, guys, and have fun with it :)
