So I had the pleasure to see the new Carrie movie tonight and I absolutely loved it.
However I know that a lot of people on tumblr have a few trigger warnings and this movie does have one big one!
There is about 4-6 self harm scenes. Not hinted at, but explicitly showed.
If you’re sensitive to this please take caution when seeing this movie!
Please spread this around so others can be warned!!!

Not trying to be anything rude here but does a horror movie really need a trigger warning? This is “Carrie”, the story about a girl who was bullied because she had her period in the girl’s shower, who has a batshit crazy religious mother who thinks sex of any kind is sinful, and she slaughters several innocents because of her mistreatment. I think self-harm was bound to happen in one of the remakes :|

Oh, um… it’s kinda a spoiler what they’re referring to. It was kind of surprising to see because it wasn’t in the original.  It’s literally someone scratching themselves to the point of bleeding, and it’s not pretty to watch because they show it in full detail.  In fact it’s a bit more painful to watch then the Prom scene (which is, oddly, more tame in the remake, in a way?).  I think the warning is because going in, we all know the story of Carrie and her being bullied, and this self harm part was added into it.  

It’s not Carrie who harms herself.  That would be what you would expect, but no… it’s not her.  So I get what you’re saying, but at the same time… I see the point of the original post.
