Real talk though, I know that Souji/Yu did a lot for everyone, but what I really liked about the anime was that he obviously needed his friends, too. Especially Yosuke.  Shipping glasses or not, Yosuke did a lot, a LOT, to help that boy  <3  I know Yosuke gets painted as the joking, annoying, kinda asshole character but, honestly, he’s really great.  It’s hard not to appreciate a guy who pulls someone out of the shadows, only to sink into those same shadows, but smiles the whole way through because at least his friend is safe.
