I DID!
THOSE THINGS BITE AND THEY KILL LADYBUGS AND BRING ABOUT THE RUIN OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLE BEARING PLANTS!

theairclub

are you talking about the ladybug or the hand

oneoddobsession

That is NOT a ladybug, bro. NOT A LADYBUG. IT IS AN ASIAN BEETLE AND IT IS PURE EVIL!
Of course I am talking about the bug. The hand is fine.  Unless it has slain puppies and kittens, then it, too, may be evil. But, no. THE BUG OF SATAN. e-e They breed way too quickly and are choking out the north american Ladybug and they infest homes and cause all around problems… mostly because of how quickly they breed and how, in the fall, they swarm houses.

AND THEY BITE. e-e They are irritating little jerks!  ”This species is widely considered to be one of the world’s most invasive insects,[5][6] partly due to their tendency to overwinter indoors and the unpleasant odor and stain left by their bodily fluid when frightened or squashed, as well as their tendency to bite humans”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonia_axyridis

Everyone says they’re just like ladybugs but A LADYBUG HAS NEVER BITTEN ME.

HOLY HECK OKAY

So I don’t know this for sure but:

A few years ago, a HUGE swarm of what we thought were ladybugs at the time (I’m coming to realize that they were probably these Asian beetles) absolutely infested the area around my house. We couldn’t open our windows or doors during the LATE SUMMER for any period of time except to get in or out, and they still got in. I was too freaked to sleep in my own bed because I have a lot of windows in my room and I had seen a bunch of them crawling around inside.

When you went outside, they got in your hair and clothing and sometimes bit you. You had to wear sunglasses and keep your mouth closed or they would get in. Every crevice of the corner of our house was filled with thousands of them. It was HELL. To this day, ladybugs freak me out and if I see more than 2 in one area I start losing it. It’s entirely likely and possible, as far as I can tell, that the bugs that infested the area near our house were not ladybugs but were, in fact, Asian beetles such as the one in this picture.

So, as tumblr user oneoddobsession stated, KILL IT WITH FIRE. These things ruined my family’s fall and have ruined my appreciation of ladybugs. Plus, they ate all my pumpkins I had grown that year (*a single tear rolls down her cheek*). Don’t underestimate the power of bugs and insects, especially when they are alien to an area.

titangroupie

this is a great and informative post but are you telling me ladybugs literally have an evil twin

brichibi

Actually I remember this.  We thought they were lady bugs too, they literally attacked my college campus one year because I remember walking back to my place from class was terrible!  They were all on the buildings and flying in the air and it was crazy!  They also attacked my dad’s house one summer, and we were like, “I’ve never seen this many lady bugs before,” but nope.  Not lady bugs.  At all.  And I swear we had everything closed but they still got in, and just, ugh.
