You’re stronger than me. Between the milking of P4, the bullshit direction its story has been going, and the moronic fandom, I’ve pretty much forgotten why I loved the series in the first place.

I’m so tired of it all that I’ve seriously been considering canceling my pre-orders.

Not looking for an argument here, but all of that is easily explained:

-The milking is Atlus’s way of raking up money so they can make more games without having to rely on a third party. Persona 4 is the one game that has reached people globally, so it’s their most secure way of income. They aren’t doing it to be greedy, it’s all for the growth of their company after getting their asses sued and bought off. The world of gaming economics is pretty expensive.

-The story isn’t going in any direction that doesn’t tie in to its original lore. I understand you don’t like certain characters or concepts, but if you were to analyse them without listening to fanon, you will be able to see that. I can’t go much into it because of spoilers, but Nenilein has made several posts that analyse several things, even to the existence of Marie. It’s just a matter of being unbiased and paying attention.

-The fandom is just dumb for the most part. No other point to it than that. It doesn’t mean they must define something though. Persona 4 will be what it is regardless of all the crap the fandumb spews. That’s why I’m not gonna bother with their shit anymore.

Every fandom has its downside.  People are a part of a fandom and some people just don’t know how to play nice and ABSOLUTELY MUST BE RIGHT GODDAMNIT! Every fandom I’ve been in ever has always had some sort of drama.

“Who’s on top” wars (thanks SasuNaru fandom for introducing me to that, seriously, destructive debates on whether or not Sasuke was on top or Naruto was on top.  We all shipped the two of them together but the drama came from who topped who).

“Which pairing is best” wars (all, extra bonus if the same character is involved multiple times:  MakoHaru versus RinHaru).

“This character is/isn’t gay” wars (all, especially Persona 4 and Kanji).

“This is canon and here’s why” debates (all).

“This character is (insert label here) and here’s why” debates (all).

“How could you like this character when they’ve done this and this and this” debates (all, a good example is Adachi from Persona 4).

“This female character is a bitch and here’s why” debates (Gundam Wing, Naruto, any lady who interrupts the yaoi, ect., even if she isn’t in the way at all and the yaoi isn’t canon)

“This character looks like (this) stop making him/her look like (that),” debates (pick a fandom, really, and change the character in some way – genderbent, racebent, ect.  Or, in Persona 4’s case, the trans Naoto debates)

It goes on and on and on, but it’s important to remember the good in fandom, which is when you meet those awesome people who you just click with.  Not to mention the creativity in fandom (fics, art, vids, cosplay, ect.)  There’s good in fandom, trust me  :)
