Happy New Year, magical ones! I haven’t updated in FOREVER! The end of 2017 was full of conventions back to back so I didn’t have much time.

I wanted to say thank you for a really great launch of my book magnifiqueNOIR! It’s been about 3 months and the reception for it has been great! I’m gonna be pushing it even harder this year and I hope to have (at least) the rough draft for book two done by the end of the year! I’ll be approaching bookstores about carrying the book and, of course, I’m always looking for reviewers and places to feature it!

In case you want a taste of the Black Girl Magic going on with my queer magical girls, you can check them out here:

2. We’re already at 6K! This is about 37% of the goal. For the first week, that’s PHENOMENAL!

3. The largest tier “They’re All My Waifus” is SOLD OUT!

4. Remember, you can keep up with what’s going on through the event MagnifiqueNOIR Kickstarter (at least until the 17th since Facebook only lets you have an event for 2 weeks)

I’m also happy to report that I spent a lot of time this weekend talking about the project at Gaylaxicon AND got to talk about it on a podcast (which I’ll link when it’s posted). The support has been amazing and all of you are wonderful!

Remember, if there’s a tier you want, go for it (especially the limited ones) as Kickstarter won’t charge you until the end of the campaign.

I’m gonna relax and actually celebrate my anniversary tomorrow, lol, so until then: GOODNIGHT, MAGICAL ONES <3 <3 <3

There’s a city. It’s like most other cities. Buildings. People. Monsters who can destroy sidewalks by vomiting acid onto the ground, and an elite group of black, queer, magical girls who work to put those monsters in their place.

See? Just like most other cities.

Bree Danvers would’ve compared it to a video game, maybe a cartoon or comic book, except black girls are rarely the heroines of the story. But there her heroine stood, plus sized and wonderful, rocking a dazzling amount of purple and defeating monsters with galactic sparkles. Galactic Purple, that was her name, and soon, Bree was joining her on a magical adventure full of transformations and after school battles to defend a city like most other cities.

And soon, others would join them, and each one would be magical in their own way… give or take a few bumps on the acid covered ground.

AND WE’RE LIVE!!! The Kickstarter for the first book in my magical girl book series is ready to go! The series focuses on a group of black, queer, magical girls who save the world with sparkles, sass, and fabulous hair. The first book, “I Am Magical,” is the start of the adventure, and will be a full-length novel with full colored picture inserts and mini one-shot comics. There are all sorts of fun early bird extras, exclusives, freebees, add-ons, tiers, stretch goals… THE WORKS!

The Kickstarter is HERE! Thank you to everyone who pledges and/or shares the magic :)

UPDATE! We just crossed $2,500! THANK YOU SO MUCH, EVERYONE!!! Keep sharing, keep promoting, keep using #magnifiqueNOIR, keep doing everything! Let’s bring these girls to life <3 <3 <3

I know of the Storyteller, it whispers into the man’s ear, I’ve met him. If you promise not to kill me, I’ll take you to him.

Alix Andre DeBenit and Randall Fagan are Hunters, part of a hidden network of humans who track and kill the monsters lurking in our world so everyone else can pretend they don’t exist. But when a living shadow mentions someone called the Storyteller, Alix hesitantly decides to learn more.

They say the Storyteller lives in a massive library full of books that tell every being’s life story. He can read these books, rewrite them and change anything he wants, even if it’s already happened. That’s the power Alix wants, the power to bring his murdered family back and he’s determined to make the Storyteller do it. He just has to decide if working with the very creatures he’s supposed to kill is worth it.

The first book in our series is on sale in time for the holiday shopping season. You can get it on Amazon or on our Etsy shop <3 The sale is for the ebook copy of the book, but it’s still possible to get signed, physical copies :)

“My Roommate’s Name Is” series

So while talking to my wifey last night we came up with a series of shorts for a book series we’re calling “My Roommate’s Name Is.” In my head, they would be comics, but since I don’t have any comic drawing skills I’m writing it out. So here’s the first part to the series!

Story One: “Steve”

Chapter One: “My Roommate is Noisy at Night and I Can’t Read My Comic Book”

Summary: Micah has a roommate who is noisy at night, therefore, he can’t read his comic book.

Warnings: NSFW overall due to sexual content (both heterosexual and LGBT) and possible violence.

Word Count: 902

One year ago, my first book, “Treat Me Kindly,” was published by Damnation Books  :)  To celebrate, I’m offering autographed copies at a discount from now until 6/11.  I’m happy to say that I actually don’t have many copies left after conventions in May, so if I run out, I’ll still honor the discounted price until next week  :)

Thank you, everyone, for supporting everything I do <3

Happy anniversary, urm… me!  Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a year <3

Katalynne quietly took in everything Fagan was telling her, letting it process in the back of her head.

Demons were real?  Check.

There was an entire world full of them? Check.

These men hunted them down and, for some reason, wanted her to be a part of this crazy operation?  Double check?

“Um… c-can I sit down?”

“There’s no chairs in this area,” Fagan frowned a bit because, shit, the least he could do was have a chair at the ready for her.

Now that the first book in our Hunters series, “Seeking the Storyteller,” is out, we’ve decided to write little side stories to go with the book(s).  Here is the first one :)

“Seeking the Storyteller” can be purchased at the following:

1.  Amazon ebook

2.  Etsy physical copy (autographed by authors and includes a free chibi character sketch)

3.  Solstice Publishing ebook

A bunch of stuff to talk about this morning!  We got some more “Seeking the Storyteller” art.  We got another excerpt you can check out.  And there’s an event where you can get the ebook for 99 cents.  You read that right, 99 cents!  For Mother’s Day weekend “Seeking the Storyteller” is on sale, so now is a great time to get it if you haven’t done so already!

Now, onto the fanart.  This piece of fanart is by the extremely talented Sean Iredale, who we met along with Tyler Hansen during Wizard World. This is Atticus, a villain who is whispered about in the first book who plays a major part throughout the series.  Sean really captured his scary epic power here.

Suddenly he was racing down the hallway, pushing open a set of large, double doors. Hanzo’s back was to him as he helped a young girl walk through a hidden passage in the wall. “Just go!” He screamed to her, “Your mother and I will catch up, I promise!”

But he had broken that promise.

Hanzo had never caught up and neither did the girl’s mother. Haven could now feel the choking sting of sadness against the back of his throat, could taste the regret, the anger, the fear. He knew that these feelings were coming from his dragon, but they were so strong that they gnawed at his stomach as if they were his own. He was the one who couldn’t protect his friends and family from this man, this man he did and did not know. This man, this Atticus, who floated above everything as the entire area crumbled around him. He could hear him laughing, the sound reverberating through his mind and his entire body.
