I know of the Storyteller, it whispers into the man’s ear, I’ve met him. If you promise not to kill me, I’ll take you to him.

Alix Andre DeBenit and Randall Fagan are Hunters, part of a hidden network of humans who track and kill the monsters lurking in our world so everyone else can pretend they don’t exist. But when a living shadow mentions someone called the Storyteller, Alix hesitantly decides to learn more.

They say the Storyteller lives in a massive library full of books that tell every being’s life story. He can read these books, rewrite them and change anything he wants, even if it’s already happened. That’s the power Alix wants, the power to bring his murdered family back and he’s determined to make the Storyteller do it. He just has to decide if working with the very creatures he’s supposed to kill is worth it.

The first book in our series is on sale in time for the holiday shopping season. You can get it on Amazon or on our Etsy shop <3 The sale is for the ebook copy of the book, but it’s still possible to get signed, physical copies :)

Katalynne quietly took in everything Fagan was telling her, letting it process in the back of her head.

Demons were real?  Check.

There was an entire world full of them? Check.

These men hunted them down and, for some reason, wanted her to be a part of this crazy operation?  Double check?

“Um… c-can I sit down?”

“There’s no chairs in this area,” Fagan frowned a bit because, shit, the least he could do was have a chair at the ready for her.

Now that the first book in our Hunters series, “Seeking the Storyteller,” is out, we’ve decided to write little side stories to go with the book(s).  Here is the first one :)

“Seeking the Storyteller” can be purchased at the following:

1.  Amazon ebook

2.  Etsy physical copy (autographed by authors and includes a free chibi character sketch)

3.  Solstice Publishing ebook

A bunch of stuff to talk about this morning!  We got some more “Seeking the Storyteller” art.  We got another excerpt you can check out.  And there’s an event where you can get the ebook for 99 cents.  You read that right, 99 cents!  For Mother’s Day weekend “Seeking the Storyteller” is on sale, so now is a great time to get it if you haven’t done so already!

Now, onto the fanart.  This piece of fanart is by the extremely talented Sean Iredale, who we met along with Tyler Hansen during Wizard World. This is Atticus, a villain who is whispered about in the first book who plays a major part throughout the series.  Sean really captured his scary epic power here.

Suddenly he was racing down the hallway, pushing open a set of large, double doors. Hanzo’s back was to him as he helped a young girl walk through a hidden passage in the wall. “Just go!” He screamed to her, “Your mother and I will catch up, I promise!”

But he had broken that promise.

Hanzo had never caught up and neither did the girl’s mother. Haven could now feel the choking sting of sadness against the back of his throat, could taste the regret, the anger, the fear. He knew that these feelings were coming from his dragon, but they were so strong that they gnawed at his stomach as if they were his own. He was the one who couldn’t protect his friends and family from this man, this man he did and did not know. This man, this Atticus, who floated above everything as the entire area crumbled around him. He could hear him laughing, the sound reverberating through his mind and his entire body.

THIS WEEKEND is the ONLY time you can get a copy of the ebook for 99 cents, so if you’re looking for a good supernatural story to read, now is the time!

Every convention we go to, we commission fanart of our characters so that the readers and fans can see different views of what they might look like.  This time, at Daisho Con, we picked up a commission of Xaver.

Xaver is the Hunter that trained Fagan and turned him from a normal business job into the Hunter that he is.  When the first book starts, Xaver is the one who called to say he needed help from his old trainee/partner which is pretty rare for him.  He almost never needs help.

Reblogging to share some art we picked up at Daisho!

As we get closer to being finished with the final edits to “Seeking the Storyteller,” our collection of fanart is growing.  We really want to get fanart of our characters so we can have them at conventions and things like that, to show a visual of our book  <3

This is Xaver Knoxton, experienced Hunter.  He’s the guy who trained the two Hunters in our book, and they are the ones who take care of the demons who lurk in the shadows.

As an extra note, if you’re an artist, we’re always looking for people to do fanart from our book series  :)

Interesting Story Facts

huntersseries:

The first book of the Hunters series is currently with the publisher, in the editing queue.  So while we all wait for updates, here’s an interesting tidbit.

This series started out as a role play between my partner and I while we had a long distance relationship in college.  She was down in Iowa and I was up here in Minnesota.  I drove down to see her at least once a month (a four hour drive one way!) and during the rest of the month we hung out on mIRC and AIM throwing our favorite anime characters into new plotlines of our own creation.  Somewhere along the line these characters took on personalities, lives and stories of their own so they were completely different from the characters they were named after.  Years later I got bored at work and wrote a scene between two of the characters just for fun, and that became the first scene of this book.

While we wait, I’d love to answer questions about the series if you guys have any.  So, any questions for me?

Hey everyone, in case you missed it, I have another book coming out.  This one is with my lovely partner and it has its very own tumblr page since it’s going to be a series.  Be sure to follow it to get the latest updates  :)  There’s already a few teasers and snippets posted.

Also, we’re both open for questions in regards to the series, or writing in general  ^^

OMG!  You guys!  The girls of Grave Impressions (check out their webcomic btw it’s great) did some lovely watercolor art of Haven and Cyn!  Haven and Cyn are one of our favorite couples in the Hunters series, and these girls did wonderful fanart of them.

A bit of background:  Haven is use to being on the run, moving from place to place as he runs away from something he doesn’t quite understand. Meanwhile, Cyn is a pretty moody, gothic girl with a big attitude, but she uses it to hide the secrets of her dark past. I’m so happy with this picture, it’s all watercolor and gorgeous! They’re going to ship it to us, and we hope to use it to promote the book at conventions :)

Gorgeous fanart is gorgeous  *__*  Will most definitely be working with these wonderful artists again!

Huzzah for our first original fanart from our book  *__*  Thank you so much to the ladies of Grave Impressions.  I want to have a lovely table at a con with all of the wonderful arts that people do for us.

So we just edited the story again and added some stuff, took out some stuff, did some general stuffs, and stuff.  Anyhow, in this snippet, Fagan, Alix, and Katalynne are trying to figure out things about the demons who are now in their basement and several things their old friend, Xaver, left behind before he was killed.

I wanted to post this part because it has a lot of dialogue between the group, so you get a feel for how they are around each other.  That and I really like writing Katalynne, like a lot, she’s like awesome secretary-chan and I love her to pieces.  This piece is pretty plot heavy, as important things are discovered.

So Hunters: Seeking the Storyteller is the joint story my partner and I have been working on since, well… college.  Back then it was a roleplay we’d do with anime and video game characters, then at some point we realized that the likes of Gaara from Naruto wasn’t really Gaara anymore…

And thus, this series was born  :)

Other parts can be read here for those in the mood for urban supernatural full of demons that live in our world.  It takes place in Minneapolis/St. Paul, and actual places in the Twin Cities actually show up (we drive around a lot and map out where places are in the story).

No major warnings for the story, not the first book anyway.  And, of course, it’s just going to be little teasers, no full chapters or anything like that since we are working to get this published.  So far it’s on the, “one publisher is interested and one agent is interested, let’s see how this goes,” stage.  It’s already had some much needed edits thanks to the agent’s suggestions  :)

And reblogging to my normal blog because I can?  YOU SHOULD READ HUNTERS!  Urm… that is the extent of my advertising skills early in the morning…

Check out the Hunters blog where the story bits will be posted:  Please notice me, senpai!

Check out my writing blog where all of my writings will be posted, not just Hunters:  You still haven’t noticed me, please notice me senpai!

Snippet: What exactly are Hunters?

huntersseries:

Sorry for not updating this in a while, we’re working hard on editing the story since there is both an agent and a publisher interested, so we’re trying to get it to its absolute best!

Here’s a quick snippet via Katalynne Cove — Fagan’s lovely secretary — and a small explanation of what Hunters are (and some possible hints of an OTP?)  Takes place fairly early in the story?

[Snippet] In which the best part of waking up sure as hell isn’t Mira

huntersseries:

So, who is Mira exactly?  She’s been mentioned before.  She’s a key part to all of the stories in general since she is the daughter of the Storyteller.  With such a prestigious title, you’d think she be less chipper.  Unfortunately, for Cyn, that’s not the case at all.

Warnings:  Sunshine, rainbows, happiness, and a very bouncy fox.

More of the original story!  Seriously, original writings are probably going to take over my life for a bit  ^^;;;  I’m sure I’ll get back to headcanons soon enough, or that pop idol Naoto fic, but I gotta pimp out my original work if I’m going to land this whole writing thing!

If you actually want to keep track, check out the blog  :)
