I feel like Microsoft is now that stuffy sophisticated guy who speaks with a thick accent and sips wine and tells you what art is. And they’re trying to explain it, and we’re all just sitting there like, “… yeah… um… not really into this…” Then instead of trying to have a reasonable discussion and understand why we’re not into this grand painting they’ve created, they call us unintelligent classless clowns who don’t understand the finer things. We’re not looking at it right, you know? We’re not even trying to understand and give it a chance, and that makes us stupid little peons who are going to miss out on something great.
Meanwhile, Sony is like, “Hey guys we tried doing that with the PS3 when it first launched by making it $600 on day one. We’ve learned our lesson. Why don’t you stop looking at the fancy art over there and sipping wine you don’t like and come hang out with us. There’s a marathon of that show you really like going on and we’ve already ordered a pizza with your favorite toppings. We’re you not in the mood for pizza? We’re sorry, we can put it in the fridge and order something else.”
Yeah this is where my head is right now ^^;;;
Wow. Really. REALLY?! You’re bringing back a franchise after 18 years and THIS is what you decide to do?! According to an article on IGN in regards to Killer Instinct being exclusive to the Xbox One: “Killer Instinct is a day-one digital-only release on Xbox One, and features – get this – one character. Jago is free to play on launch day. Everyone else – unspecified returning characters as well as original fighters – will cost money. Price is to-be-determined (of course).”
So… let’s review.
1. It’s digital. This franchise won’t even get a disc release after 18 years. Really? Like as cheesy as this game is I loved it back in the day. 18 years and no disc, no box, no nothing? That would be like, “Final Fantasy XV IS HERE BUT YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT GUYS! No pretty box art, no collector’s edition, no nothing. Download it.”
2. I only get one character? Really? And I don’t even get to choose? One character for free, then other characters come later? How much later? Like do I have to wait a week to get a different character to play with? And I have to PAY FOR OTHER CHARACTERS?! You realize a fighting game roster has, normally, 20+ characters. I have to pay? I have to pay?! Could you imagine them doing that with Street Fighter? “Hey kids Ryu is awesome, stay tuned next week for Ken, he’ll be $9.99 though. Chun-Li is in a month, $9.99. We got about 50 more characters to go at $10 a pop. Whee!”
Microsoft… seriously, this is a serious question… what are you doing?
