So this is in the art show at CONvergence. My partner went yesterday to drop my stuff off :) The only thing not pictured (because she didn’t get a chance to take the picture since she had to get back to work) is a TMNT clock and a Wonder Woman clock. If you’re at the con this weekend, check out the table! There’s also business cards since I take custom orders and stuff. I have to say I really like the art show set up at CONvergence, it’s nice and spiffy looking.

This is how I spent my weekend. Yay Anime Central preparations! There’s more clocks in progress, but these are the ones completely put together.
Fun facts:
1. The Marceline one? The guitar goes around the clock in seconds, since it’s the second hand.
2. Jack Frost was the first one I made this weekend. I made his hoodie for the edge of the clock with pencil dipped in white paint.
3. The Sailor Moon silhouette is painted on the glass itself, so it sticks out a bit.
4. Kid Flash feels :(

OMFG I didn’t even notice and I’ve seen this movie three times. First of all. Sandy? Stop being a cutie right now, kthnx. Second of all, OMG LOOK AT BUNNY! He starts off frowning like, “Whateva I don’t care ‘bout that guy,” then suddenly that frown shifts into a smile like, “God I’m so in love I don’t even…” ESPECIALLY THAT LAST ONE OMG LOOK AT HOW MUCH HE CARES!

Some dreams are far crueler than any nightmare.
Once when someone dear to me was ‘lost’ so to speak, I would dream of him, but those were always very bitter because even in my dreams I knew he wasn’t going to be there when I woke up. They would leave me so shaken sometimes I couldn’t get out of bed the next morning.
I feel like Sandman tries his best to console children with death, but is not his expertise. He sends them dreams of their loved ones that hurt more than help, and in this way Pitch is the hero for once.
What an interesting and extremely truthful concept. I’ve had, I think, maybe one or two dreams about my brother. But they happen so rarely that when I do dream about him, I wake up feeling really disoriented. The one I remember the most, he walked through the door, and we knew he was supposed to be dead and he was standing right there like nothing happened.
Then he told me to come out to my mom.
I mean it wasn’t bad, per say, but I was really shaken up after that because… what was he doing there? How did he even know about my partner when he wasn’t alive to meet her? But in the dream he knew her, in fact, they knew each other and talked, and just… in the end it ended up being what I needed to finally tell my mom, but at the time? I was completely frazzled and just… yeah. When he shows up it really kind of messes me up, because he never shows up you know?
I ship it so hard you don’t even know. Huh what?

OMG I REMEMBER SEEING THESE GUYS! The Pitch actually commissioned a bunch of plushies from us. His eyebrows aren’t shaved, they’re taped! He was wonderful with his Jack Frost :) So tall, and he even sounded like a great Pitch, too.

This, just…. can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that the kids were just as important as the guardians? That they stood with them? That they battle Pitch too? And the message Jamie had for Pitch, “I do believe in you, I’m just not afraid of you.”
And I want to take a minute to applaud how diverse the kids are. Sophie with her messy hair. Cupcake (and the fact that the tough kid to be scared of was a girl who wore pink to sleep and dreamt of unicorns). The two black kids. The nerdy kid with the glasses. Just… it was a realistic group of children to me. And they were ALL important. I mean, yes, Jamie was important but the movie remembered them too.
So bravo, Dreamworks, bravo! It makes me sad that this movie was apparently a flop. Just… why don’t people see what I see?

I’ve told you guys about giving me feels in the morning!
I’d like to point out that the only three characters who feel this in the movie are Jack (the character who sort of stands between the good guys and the bad guy), Pitch (the bad guy), and Bunny (the good guy). Like yes, there’s a point where all the kids stop believing in all of them, but these three are the ones who have that moment where a kid runs through them. Just… look at the heartbreak on Bunny’s face, and Jack watching in the background. Jack knows what this feels like, has always known, and this is the first time he gets to see it happen to someone else. It’s different when you know how something feels and you see it happen to someone else. You know that hurt, but this is the first time he sees that hurt on someone else. I think, even at the end of the movie with Pitch, when they see it happen to him there’s this moment of, “… o.k., you’re the villain, but…”
