This is a new version to a clock I offer. The original version still had the same clock face, but the clock hands were white and the inside edge was white too. Now there’s frost on the inside edge along with it being over the hands, to make it look a bit more Jack like ^^
The thing I really like about Bunnymund is how he’s this big badass voiced by fucking Wolverine and doesn’t take shit from anyone, but he loves what he does. He’s not ashamed at all to paint eggs and call them adorable and he’s not ashamed that he’s a bunny, two things that in our society are viewed as “not manly.” It really made me happy to see this manly man (sorry, manly bunny), who fights with boomerangs and is big and tough, doing all of these traditionally feminine activities and enjoying them. He takes pride in what he does and doesn’t have an ounce of shame about it. Non of the other characters tease him about it, either. Sure Jack calls him a kangaroo, but he doesn’t go ‘haha you’re a bunny’ or ‘haha you make painted eggs.’ It sends a really good message to kids that you can be a man and still love painting eggs and fluffy bunnies.

This is a really good point. Also, the reverse would be Tooth, who goes on and on about teeth of all things, and there’s the part where she shows Sophie the teeth and they’re still a little bloody and gross and she’s like, “Hey there little girl look at how precious right?” And Sophie ends up getting really close to Bunny, helping him paint eggs and stuff, and he’s completely cool with it.
He’s even picky about his eggs. When the kids stop believing and he has eggs in his basket like, “These aren’t my best ones but they’ll do,” like it’s no sloppy paint jobs for him, oh no, this is high quality art for him. I really do like this observation about him, because it’s true, he’s big and uses a boomerang and kicks ass but at the same time he’s like, “Easter and spring and pretty things yes.”
No worries on that one; we’re set for life here~! <3

So this is in the art show at CONvergence. My partner went yesterday to drop my stuff off :) The only thing not pictured (because she didn’t get a chance to take the picture since she had to get back to work) is a TMNT clock and a Wonder Woman clock. If you’re at the con this weekend, check out the table! There’s also business cards since I take custom orders and stuff. I have to say I really like the art show set up at CONvergence, it’s nice and spiffy looking.

March 20th, the first day of spring. 4 days until Easter, 4 days to put on the finishing touches, the last little painted designs and to choose the perfect spot just under the picnic table where the brightly colored eggs could be found -
Or at least, that was the plan.
But this year, when Bunnymund came up from the Warren with all the preparations, he landed in the park which was decidedly more white then green. Grumbling he scanned the trees around him with narrowed eyes until he spotted the one he wanted. Stomping over, across the crunching snow, Bunny raised one of his large feet and hit it against the tree trunk as hard as he could, sending the vibration up the tree. Snow rained down from the branches along with a snow colored young man. Jack landed on the snow covered ground with a thump, glaring back at the large hare in front of him.
“What the heck was that for!?”

OK GUYS STOP WITH THE GUARDIANS FEELS!
There’s a concept of the movie that I really like, and it’s Jack pretty much asking the guardians, “When’s the last time you actually spent time with children?” Like, the guardians are the great and powerful protectors… but… when’s the last time they actually spent a second with the very children they want to protect? Think about it. The Sandman comes to give you sweet dreams, meaning you’re sleeping when he shows up. Children are told to leave cookies and milk for Santa, then to go to sleep (and Christmas is only once a year, which means he only does this one time, and that one time isn’t even spent directly with children). You put a tooth underneath your pillow for the Tooth Fairy (and in the movie, she’s not even the one who collects the teeth) and the Easter Bunny hides the eggs before the children can see him. Jack’s the only one who, you know, was playing with the kids.
I think this is important for any protective figure: parents, siblings, friends, whatever. Sometimes, we spend so much time “protecting” that we forget to, you know, enjoy the thing we’re protecting. And this scene, right here, you can tell that Bunny gets what Jack was talking about as far as, “When’s the last time you did this?” Sophie looks so happy seeing him, and just look at how happy Bunny looks to be around her? It’s really touching to me.
This part, just… o.k., let me say this.
The details are just flawless. This is the part where Easter is ruined, if I remember right. The top gif, you can just feel the concern, the pain, just… Jack watching as Bunny essentially feels what he’s been feeling for 300 years. There’s this feeling of, “No, no no, I couldn’t have done this, I wouldn’t do this…” The second gif continues that, but the third gif sort of clenches it. It adds something else: guilt. Like, “I caused this,” “I did this to someone,” “I made someone feel this awful.” And there’s this look of, “Maybe I can explain it, maybe… but would they understand? Would Bunny understand?”
But what I also want to note is how the movie pays attention to its background characters. Look at Tooth in the gifs. I always wondered, the first time I saw the movie, how when Jack came back North and Tooth were just like, “Hey you’re back, good,” like, they forgave him so easily, you know? But look at her in these gifs! It’s like, “Oh Jack… oh god you didn’t want this to happen, did you?” Like, she knows, she gets it. She gets how Bunny feels, but she gets how Jack feels. She knows Jack cares about them, and knows that this is the last thing he wanted to happen.
Thanks to the positive response over the coaster I did I thought, “What goes best with a coaster? A glass!” I use to do glass painting a lot, but then the glass paint I used to use was discontinued, so I stopped. Then, a friend got me some glass stuff for my birthday last year, but the glasses kinda sat around because I couldn’t come up with any ideas for them.
Then Rise of the Guardians came out.
Then I discovered new glass paint.
I’m still testing it out, really, since I’ve never baked it on there before. So in the next two days I’ll know if it actually work/can be washed, ect. I figured it was safe to make Guardians, because if it doesn’t work my partner will keep it. If it does work, well, it’ll be at Anime Detour with the coaster ^^
The glass is hand painted and I actually dipped a pencil in the paint to do the snowflakes, just to try and get the lines done properly ^^ I hope everyone enjoys this new Rise of the Guardians glass and coaster set :)

With Anime Detour fast approaching, it’s time to get some woodburned coasters done. Of course, Jack Frost has made an appearance thanks to my obsession love for Rise of the Guardians ^^ I also plan on making some sort of wine glass or goblet or something, hopefully in time for the convention to match the coaster :)
