The real world.

This is from That’s So Raven, where Chelsea and Raven apply to work at the same clothing shop. Chelsea is white; Raven is black. Chelsea gets the job, despite being utterly horrible at it, while Raven, who has a deep interest in fashion and knows how to handle clothes, does not. The girls find this deeply suspicious, so Chelsea wears a hat with a camera on it and questions the employer. The employer admits what she does in the gif above and Chelsea and Raven submit the footage to a news station.

And THAT is why That’s So Raven is the best TV show ever.

That’s not even the only reason why it was the best show ever

There was a series in the 90s called “Smart Guy” that did the same kind of thing in regards to racism, and it was hella satisfying, because it had a scene of a black guy walking into the store and the white manager started following him around, he asked if she had a problem and she was all, “Oh no, nothing at all,” but kept following him.  He then said something about getting a call from a girl (main girl in the series) about how the manager followed black people around/wanted her employees to follow black people around, and then proceeded to drop the bomb of, “I’m your regional manager,” or something in that regard of, “I’m way above you on the corporate ladder and you are about to lose your job.”

I miss kid shows doing stuff like this, more importantly, I miss kid shows having the culprits pay for their racist behavior, because it not only showed that racism was bad, but it showed that it would not be tolerated and the guilty parties would be held accountable for their actions, and their actions would be punished.
