Finished a Yukiko woodburning/painting today so here’s some progress pics, from the sketch, to the burning and painting, and the final outcome. I decided to add some white petals in Yukiko’s hair so it wasn’t so dark with the silhouette.

When it comes to the female cast, it feel that some favor Naoto in ways that seem hypocritical. They freak out whenever Naoto is in fan-service scenes or anything that slightly demeans her, but you never see them act the same way about the other girls. What? Are they an exemption? They’re female and just as important, you know.
This… is an interesting point.
A small headcanon I’ve had for a while is that Naoto really respects the girls on the team, because they are strong and capable, and they have no issue being, well, women. I’ve wanted to write something for this but never got around to it, of her watching them in battle, and how good they are. Chie is definitely strong, and Yukiko is quite dangerous. Rise, even if she’s in the background, is focusing on the entire fight and all of the enemies and giving them battle tips and things, which I imagine would take a lot of skill to control the persona she has.
I love all of the girls, but sometimes I feel like the fandom forgets about them because Naoto is so complex. And she is, and she is interesting, but when I see fanservice shots people cry out for Naoto more. But… none of the girls would do things like that. Even with the beauty pageant, for example, NONE of them wanted to do it. Chie just ended up giving in because of Hanako, Yukiko kinda went along with it after that, and Rise was like “whatever I’ve been in a swimsuit before (and no I don’t think she’d be for fanservice either, I don’t believe in the Rise = slut thing some people have, after her dungeon and her shadow why would she ever be o.k. with that? She may accept Risette being a part of who she is, but the whole "gunna git naked” thing is not what she wanted to be seen as). When ALL of the girls found out about the bathing suit thing (not just Naoto) they were pissed, I mean, Yukiko even said “that bear needs to disappear.” In fact, Naoto was mortified while Yukiko promised death. And Chie was so pissed about the entire pageant in the beginning that she signed the boys up for the cross-dressing pageant as payback, and smirked the whole time.
So yeah… this is an interesting point to me.

3. Rise sings a love song and recruits her best friends to serve as back-up singers. Said best friends don’t realize that the song is about the two of them. Kanji realizes it about halfway through the song and stumbles over his words. Naoto doesn’t get it, but the lyrics make her blush.
4. Minato has decided to summon Lucifer into my kitchen.
5. Trial of the Dragon! From childhood to the teenage years.
6. Yukiko look graceful as always.
7. Souji-… na… summons her final persona. She manages to look bad ass the entire way through.
Shadow Yukiko’s Dress is all done!!
This is a very special commission I was asked to do by a dear friend who we met last year. Her name is Morrigan and she is currently transitioning to a female. She chose this dress as her celebration dress for beginning the process and did me the great honor of asking me to make it for her. So this is the finished project from yesterday when she tried it on. This weekend, at Acen, she’ll have the tiara, heels and make up to go with it.
As a person who will occasionally make dresses for people, this is honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. She was speechless and shaking when she put it on because she was so happy. I loved it and I loved making it.
I hope people love it at Anime Central and the other cons she wears it to.
Reblogging because my partner is an amazing person who makes people happy :) What made this even better was that my dad and his girlfriend were here the entire time, so they watched this transformation happen, and we all hugged her and told her she was beautiful. Because she is.

Note: I had a nice, worksafe, family friendly headcanon planned today, then I saw that the first shot had been fired on the smut-off (are we having a smut-off even I’m not sure but we should bake cookies!), so I had to write this (that and I can’t write smut at work but I can write sap so sap has to wait for now).
