Meet Octosnail, Feety Bat, Duck-Bun, Pandasaur, and Pengi-Cat! These five are the first of many animals in the Friendipal world and are anxious to see how you color them in.

We interrupt me pimping out my book and short story to bring you: kitties! One of our friends found these little guys stuck in her planter outside and my partner and I have taken them in. They’re about 3 weeks old. We were a bit worried about our other cat taking to them, but she’s only been in the house since November and is only 2 years old, so she doesn’t seem too bothered. She hisses from time to time, but today she actually started grooming one of them by giving it a bath!
These little guys are Carter and Clayton, I thought I would share them with you all :) They are terribly distracting squeakers ^^;;;

Everything that can go wrong has gone far beyond wrong for Matthew Sharpton. After his beautiful fiancee decides to upgrade to a better man, Matthew is forced to move into the zero-star establishment of his parents’ basement. Roommates with his shattered dreams and a father that disapproves of his entire existence, Matthew is now jobless, womanless, and every other less you can think of. The only thing he has going for him is a tiny pink bird he picked up at an animal auction. But apparently, Matthew can’t even properly pick pets. Instead of a bird he finds himself with a gorgeous, naked woman who seems to think that he’s her master.
“Treat me kindly,” she says, but the hidden message in the bottle whispers to Matthew, “…or else.”
Elsewhere, deep within the busy walls of city-tropolis, Detective Alex Sampson is enjoying the days of flipping on his sirens and watching traffic part for him as if he’s royalty. He gets a call for a recent homicide and rushes to one of the finest condominiums in the city. Unsurprisingly, no one is mourning the death of animal cruelty expert number one, Frank Marko. After being shamed out of his career for participating in dog fights, his last chance for redemption — and good P.R. — rested at a prestigious animal charity auction. With a promise of something “rare and exotic,” the punk rocker apparently got way more than he could’ve possible bargained for. Alex finds him dead in his lavish home, the only clue to his demise a small bruise on his neck and the beautiful butterfly found on the corpse.
Alex turns to his friend and colleague “Nick-Nack” — it’s still Nicholas, Alex — for leads in regards to the butterfly. There’s just one teeny, tiny, colossal problem. Butterflies don’t bite, don’t sting, and this particular breed found on Marko’s body is extinct. It’s been awhile since Alex has been in detention, but he swears that “extinct” is another way of saying “dead from now until forever more.” On top of that, the body count grows higher and more grotesque by the day.

This story means a lot to me. It’s the first original story I’ve completed of this length and the one I’ve been trying to get published. At the moment, there’s actually a publisher interested and I’m reading over the contract, so yay! It’s come a long way, like most writings tend to do. I actually started it back in college, got to about chapter five I believe, and then… everything changed — including my style of writing. The main character is completely different than he was before, the ending is different, there’s characters who weren’t there before… it’s just all a part of the writing process.
This scene snippet takes place about, hmmm… close to the hallway mark, I’d say. I hope you all enjoy it, and look forward to seeing it published *keeps fingers crossed about that*
Quick Summary: It’s just another dead ex-rockstar for detective Alex Sampson. When Frank Marko is found dead in his luxury condo, police find that the only clue to his untimely demise is a small butterfly resting by the body. It turns out that there’s an auction that happens in the city where the wealthy and glamorous get together and bid on rare animals. However, these animals hold a secret: they can turn human like us. These pets are more than willing to be loyal and obedient, but there’s one rule you must always follow by:
Treat them kindly. Or else.
Genre: Urban Supernatural, Mystery, Crime Thriller
Warnings: (for this part) blood, gore, disturbing imagery, violence
Random Note: This story is probably the most violent thing I’ve ever written. Oddly enough, my mother absolutely loves it, lol!
All right, guys, this is my disturbing messed up I need to seek professional help baby. This is the story that the publisher is interested in. It’s just a teaser, but please give it a read, let me know what you think. Is it something you’d pick up and check out?

This raccoon never left the side of a cat who was dying of a tumor. The cat was comforted for the final hours of her life by her long time friend.

That last one. The raccoon gently petting the cat. The look on the cat’s face. The look on the raccoon’s face. The raccoon looks so sad, petting the cat with this look of, “I don’t want you to leave me, but I’ll be here with you and make you feel comfortable, because you shouldn’t be in pain when you go.” And the cat has her eyes closed like, “Thank you. That does feel nice. I feel like I can rest quietly next to you.”
Animals are so amazing, but wow, this is both sweet and sad to look at :(
