The Inner Workings of a Chibi.

You know Top Model is my guilty pleasure and all, but just, ugh now I feel bad for watching it.  I mean… yeah, I guess the idea of guys/girls cycle is interesting, and it was a bit fun to watch, but this final episode just ruined it.  Not just because Cory didn’t make it, but:

1.  This whole message about girls being abused.  Yeah, that’s important, but if you’re going to do a cycle about guys and girls, shouldn’t you, I dunno, talk about issues men have too?  Shouldn’t you focus on both and not just one?  It feels like you’re just focusing on girls, like you do every other cycle.  I thought that was about both.

2.  Where did this abuse plotline even come from?  Now it just feels like it’s been set up for Jourdan because she has the, “I was in an abusive relationship,” story.  Now all of the sudden there’s an entire video about it and it plays before the runway show?

3.  Where did this whole androgyny issue with Cory come from?  It sort of sprung up towards the end, you know?  "You gotta show them it’s fine to be you,“ but I remember him from the first episode, he was pretty much fine with who he was?  You know, he did the whole, "Don’t wanna kiss any of these girls so I grabbed a boy,” thing in that first fashion show.  Cory was fine with himself, guys.  You had a judge on panel who wasn’t fine with who he was, you know, telling him week after week he’s not manly enough.  And you know what?  He still made it through that.  Not only that, but he pretty much adapted to whatever they asked him to do.  "Hey be this abusive asshole for this video,“ o.k., "Kiss this girl,” sure, and just…

Blargh.  Done rambling.  Sorry followers I’ll go back to geekery and stuff now.
