The Inner Workings of a Chibi.

brichibi:

Let’s create a couple of scenarios.

Let’s say I decided to cosplay Catwoman. Someone might tell me, “You’re too fat to cosplay her” or “fat cat.”

All right, fine. Let’s say one of the women I follow, who is skinny, says they want to cosplay Catwoman. Except their black. Someone might tell them, “Catwoman isn’t black” or “Check it out, ghetto Catwoman.”

All right. Fine. Let’s say that another woman I follow, who is skinny, and white, says that they want to cosplay Catwoman. Someone might tell them, “That cosplay is too slutty” or “attention whore.”

This right here is why there’s no point in stressing about such negative comments. Same character in each scenario, only different levels of negativity. This is why, my number one advice, is to smile and cosplay who you want

So here’s a smile from me to you

***

Bonus scenario: So then you may start to envy the male cosplayers of the world, thinking that they must have it so easy. Then you see a picture of a male cosplayer with a caption like, “He tried, I guess?” Or even see statements like, “Male cosplay is so boring” “Superman really let himself go, huh?” “What’s up with this Wolverine?”

So, everyone? Smile, on the count of three: 1. 2. 3!

(also special thanks to Nude Carbon Studios for the Tiana pic!)

Have you smiled this morning?

Just finished up an interview for Heroes United Against Cosplay Bullying! It was via Skype so I wore Peach, which is the cosplay I was bullied in last year. It’s hard to believe that something I was bashed in could be used so positively :) Always...

Just finished up an interview for Heroes United Against Cosplay Bullying! It was via Skype so I wore Peach, which is the cosplay I was bullied in last year. It’s hard to believe that something I was bashed in could be used so positively  :)  Always remember, cosplay is all about having fun portraying the characters you love.  Cosplay is for everyone.  Period.

First tshirt design promoting cosplay equality/cosplay body acceptance by ME. I am currently working on coloring this in Sai :3 going to color it and make it all pastel, cutesy adorable :3 (well accept usagi :p) and I chunked her a wee bit more in Sai… :3

NEVER EVER let someone tell you that you can’t cosplay a character because of your size! EVER!

I am so sick of seeing slender women posed as villains, as though their existence is a direct attack on other body types. I fucking love this post.

Omfg thank you, I’m a bigger girl myself but fuck there’s no point in trying to make skinnier gals feel bad for being smaller.

Preach!

Cosplaying is for my Soul… not my Body (but damn I still looked cute)

So last night I started cleaning up my files (My computer is super clogged) and I came across some screen shots that were taken in June of 2012, I believe. Kinda made me start thinking.

Reblogging this because this was shared with me this morning and I think everyone should read it.  It shows how cruel some people can be in regards to cosplay, but it also shows how great people can be in the end. Trigger warnings in regards to depression and how bad some people get, but again, I feel that it’s important to read because this is what bullying can make a person feel like.  All those “har har go kill yourself” comments? People don’t seem to realize that they can really impact a person and make them feel bad enough to consider it.  Fortunately, this girl, in the end, stood her ground and is stronger now.

At the end of the day words hurt, even if the bully is just some person you don’t know on the internet, because I know there’s some people who are supportive but seem to forget that not everyone is as strong as they are.  "Laugh it off,“ and, "Ignore it,"and, "You don’t even know this guy don’t let it get to you,” and things like that.  That’s all well and good but not everyone can just shrug stuff off that easily, and you shouldn’t make them feel like less of a person because “they can’t take it.”

Hell, I consider myself a pretty strong person, but even being called names bothered me.  I didn’t just see the comments and chuckle to myself and respond by frying that chicken, I looked at it for a while, frowned about it, felt bad about it, the whole snazzy response thing didn’t happen instantly.  And I know there are some confident folks who can just have a snappy comeback right away, but that doesn’t mean everyone can.  At the end of the day, no one should be judged period, whether they can laugh it off and still be fabulous or not.

So this read is important, because it’s honest and it shows how bad bullying can get.  It shows how she reacted, how badly it effected her, and how she turned it around.

So yeah, my finale step in accepting myself is taking my own advice and feeling proud of the way I look by flaunting it. I am way happier looking at these photos and feeling genuinely beautiful than looking at a scale and getting excited when I loose weight. Weight is not a measurement of health, your self worth and definitely not your beauty. Let aloe your right to wear a bathing suit when it’s hot as hell! You earned that body, it’s beautiful because it belongs to you!

The perfect bikini body joke has been going around for while, just thought I’d contribute, not steal someone else’s joke :P

I interrupt your regular blogging schedule to introduce ^ this woman. That is all!

At first I was like NO WHAT IS THIS SHIT DOING ON MY DASH. Then I was like HELLZ YES I NEED MORE OF THIS AWESOMENESS ON MY DASH.
