Today we got a lovely email which included the *hopefully* final cover for our book from our coverartist!!! Guys, it seriously looks amazing and I can’t wait to share it! We just have to make sure the publisher is as happy as we are, then we’ll announce a reveal event!

The hunter watched as the shadows pulled back like a receding wave of dark black. A figure stepped out of the shadows, the waves parting for him like a curtain. Its feet were silent against the uneven concrete, gently touching the floor like a trained dancer. It was tall and skinny, the type of thinness that reminded Alix of news reports of war torn countries where the people looked like they never ate. Despite its malnourished appearance no bones showed through his skin, but the texture of its flesh almost looked like a frozen liquid, small ripples flowing down its arms and chest. Its skin was a color similar to runny ink pens, the black seeming to bleed into the concrete. Its eyes were hollow, missing pupils, and deep like endless black holes that made Alix wonder how the creature could see in front of him.
In contrast to its creepy, elongated features two large ears flapped down around its head, giving the creature a strange resemblance of a playful puppy, something that could be trusted — but Alix knew better. To think that creatures like this shadow dog — the closest thing that Alix could associate the demon with — sparked nightmarish stories of demons and other religious fodder was laughable. What stood in front of him now certainly didn’t look like the demons the rest of the human world was so familiar with. In fact, there was a good portion of them that probably would have thought that this inhuman thing was, dare he say, cute, something to keep as a pet and make do tricks for spoiled little children.
Alix was disgusted by the thought.***
Meet Dox, one of the creatures from “Seeking the Storyteller.” This first upcoming book is part of the “Hunters” series by myself and my wifey.

What’s a Scough?
The Scough are a group of demons that show up in the Hunters series which resemble a mix of humans and foxes. Many have fox style ears with fur that goes from the top of their head, down their backs, and ends in tails. Their colors range from white (like arctic foxes) to red, to brown and black and grey.
They tend to live in the forest, preferring to be surrounded by trees and nature and don’t build permanent structures. Instead they sleep in nests made of leaves and branches and moss, curling together in family groups for warmth. Due to their low numbers they prefer to stay out of conflict and avoid the other species and groups in the demon world.
This, of course, makes them a perfect place for a Storyteller to hide. Or rather, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

In my upcoming book, “Double Hue,” Gable Peterson has to tell his parents about his boyfriend, Avery Blair. Avery’s parents didn’t take the news so great, so they’re not too thrilled about telling Gable’s parents. Fortunately, they seem to take it well! Now… they just need to adjust to the idea ^^;;;
To all the parents who are supportive of your children, thank you so much, it means the world to us. And for those kids out there who think your parents won’t get it… sometimes, they just need some time. Sometimes, they really are trying. Yes, being gay should be accepted, but we live in a society where it’s not seen as “the norm.” So your parents may need some time :)

Hey guys remember that time I wrote a short story for a gay romance anthology? I don’t mean to forget, honest, but with “Treat Me Kindly” and now “Double Hue” and soon “Hunters: Seeking the Storyteller” I forget to mention this little tidbit. Uh… my book has a pretty important gay character and his sexuality isn’t the focus :) I mean it’s there yeah but the story isn’t about his love life ^^

Sam and Deanthis hurts
Dean looks like he’s had every past ounce of joy and hope sucked out of him.
A lot of the softness and kindness in Sam’s face is gone, and he looks hurt by the world and angry with it.
Yikes. They’ve changed so much. Then again I hope our book series has the same effect on people, like, “Hey, look what’s happened from the beginning to now?” Like you don’t realize the weight of things sometimes until a post like this, then it’s like, “… wow shit.”

The Lurkhamara was glaring at them, its arm extended out as shadows leaked from its fingers and dripped onto the ground. Instead of speaking a command, the words attack and destroy appeared over the creatures’ bodies, the shadows’ loud screech piercing into the air. These small, round creatures were quickly scurrying after them like rabid parasites. None of them had eyes to see, instead they were made of toxic shadows that seemed to kill the plant life and land that the creatures touched. As they got closer Fagan could see that a few of them had large holes that served as mouths, sharp teeth dangling and ready to strike. Fagan glanced back at Alix, frowning, “Alix, backup!”
“Allow me.” Yvonne smirked and stepped past Fagan, pushing his hand out. What was a small flame at his fingertips surged forward, exploding in a wave of yellow and red flames. The strange shadowy creatures wailed in protest, their bodies instantly melting from the heat.
