Good morning! We’re on our way to Daishocon! I’ll be Tiana all day today when I get there, hope to see you there!
I was tagged by Jezzabellgem Cosplay, Props & Costuming to name 4 of my favorite cosplays that I’ve done. I’m actually going to do 6! Special thanks to my wonderful wifey SnowCosplays for making all of these cosplays for me
1. Queen Minnie: This is the first ballgown cosplay I did. I really want to do it again some day. The wifey and I are kind of hoping that she gets a new outfit for Kingdom Hearts 3, otherwise, this dress is really adorable
2. Princess Peach: This one has special meaning to me, because it was the first time (to my knowledge) that I was bashed in cosplay, and I responded in such a public way by writing that article and frying that chicken. It really started me on this “cosplay is for everyone” path
3. Princess Tiana: I wanted to do her originally for completely biased “omg a black Disney princess” reasons, but after seeing the movie I really fell in love with her with her “work hard for your dreams” message. That and I always get such a great reaction to her, I really love seeing kids’ eyes light up when they see me.
4. Neo Queen Serenity: Sailor Moon is one of those series where my love gets renewed every time I see something from it. In this case, it was asieybarbie’s fanart. It was a really great moment putting this on, because Sailor Moon is one of her favorites, so seeing her face when she saw me in it was really great.
5. Wonder Woman: Who doesn’t love Wonder Woman? She’s such a great symbol of strength and empowerment. I feel so strong when I wear this cosplay, and I swear when I do get bashed while I’m wearing it, my brain is like, “Whatever I look fabulous.” I usually feel like that regardless, but something about Wonder Woman just makes me feel confident, no matter what.
6. Freddy Fazbear: I love this cosplay because it’s fun being scary. It’s so different from what I usually do. Also special shout out to Brad Duct-Tape Hale for being an amazing Freddy.
Thank you everyone for all the appreciation for our cosplays of Hiro and Tadashi! Our photos are under this tag: [✖]
The response has been overwhelming! Even the queries as to whether the two of us are 3D renders, and other bewildered reactions gave us warm marshmallow feelings. Let us assure you that we are quite human and real! (^~^;)ゞ
It usually takes me a while to answer, but my inbox is open if you have questions. I respond faster to non-anons because the answers can be sent privately for less clutter. Big bro, on the other hand, hasn’t posted anything on his Tumblr yet, hasn’t activated his inbox, and wants me to update his blog for him. Pffft.
We’re working on producing more Hamada brothers photos because we were intensely inspired by Big Hero 6 (both artistically and emotionally) and have so many other ideas we haven’t been able to execute yet. We hope you’ll stick around for more! These characters mean a lot to us, so we’re very grateful for all the appreciation!
This is perfection <3
So I don’t think I’ve posted about this on my Tumblr yet, but a few weeks ago I was told that my cosplay presentation idea for the “Body Love Conference” made it through round one! Round two was to make a video that pretty much goes into what your presentation is, why its important, and things like that. If the video makes it through, then I get to go to the conference :)
I decided that on top of telling, I would show why it would be important. So my partner and I made this shirt, which is just a handful of comments I’ve gotten this year alone about my cosplay. This isn’t everything, because everything wouldn’t fit on the front of the shirt. How sad is that? Cosplay is supposed to be fun, right? We’re dressing up as fictional characters, who are these people who have time to say such harsh things to someone they don’t even know?
But I’m not the only one this happens to. I’m sure everyone has a story where someone said something out of line to them, whether they were cosplaying or not. And, oddly enough, that creates an understanding, a bond, between us. And through the negativity it shows why positivity is so important. It shows why your happiness and your opinion of yourself is what matters. You can’t go off of someone else’s blind judgment. You can’t let these words keep you down, I say “keep” because, honestly, they will hurt and I will never deny that part, because it’s important to be honest with your feelings. Being called these names does hurt and they will make you pause in your steps. They made me pause, but they didn’t make me completely stop. They never will. Why should they?
I know the truth about myself. I’m a writer. I’m a cosplayer. I’m an artist. I have a loving partner, great friends and family. Why is one “fat slob” comment going to stop me from living the life I want to live?
It’s not, and it shouldn’t stop you, either.
So there was a Smash Brothers event at the GameStop I used to work at. Once upon a time, when Smash Brothers Brawl came out, I debuted my Princess Peach cosplay and worked the midnight launch. I decided to go to the event as Peach, just for fun, and got a couple of pics :)
Smash Brothers is AMAZING, btw, it’s so fun and graphically it’s gorgeous. I can’t wait until it comes out. I like lost all of my skill since Brawl though so I’m gonna need to practice, lol.
Cosplay was made by my wifey, as always, and you can check out more of my cosplay here. Peachy!
So according to Gail Simone it’s Cosplay Appreciation Day! So here are some of my pics from this year. It’s been quite the year and we’ve gone to more cons than ever with our art, our books, and our costumes. It’s also been quite the year in spreading the message that cosplay is for everyone, and it’ll continue on into next year and years to come <3
Special thanks to my wifey (the Belle with the design on the front of the dress and pretty much the girl in every pic with me except for the group shot of Disney characters) for making these costumes and always being a supportive voice. Also thanks to all of the cool people I’ve met at all of these conventions and online through my cosplay page, I hope we all have just as much fun, or even more fun, next year. Thanks for all of the support in what I do, it means a lot to me :)
Also thanks to ilessthan3photography, Nude Carbon Studios, DWB Photography, Stray Things Photography and Cerulean Photography for the professional photos throughout the year :) And thanks to artists like asieybarbie and Timothy Lim for letting us use their work for our cosplay (asieybarbie for Neo Queen Serenity and Timothy Lim for the Five Nights at Freddy’s pizza box).
Also cosplay credits to the following people in the pictures above:
Queen of Hearts is Sweets4aSweet Cosplay
Belle (in the pic with the Queen of Hearts) is Pretty Lush Cosplay
Freddy Fazbear is Brad Duct-Tape Hale
My cosplay page is here and, as always, remember that to love your cosplay is to love yourself <3

Print shop is open for about three weeks!!!!!
——————————————————————————————————————
Disclaimers:
Well, the time has come. I do print sales about 4 times a year, sometimes less…and that time NOWWWW MANNNN. Featuring new prints from Cozpho Photography, Photosnxs, Fawkes Photography andFelix Wong Photography.
Some changes since last print run to help with some minor complaints from the last run:
1) I will be upgrading the shipping materials to have better backing for the large prints. I have tagboard to add in front/back of the prints to keep them safer in-transit.
2) I will be using small tracking and bubble mailers with backing on small prints now, so shipping will no longer be free for those domestic prints, unfortunately. I used to send them in a standard envelope with stamps to keep the cost very low, but due to some international prints getting bent and lost in the mail, I’m sorry but I can’t do that anymore. It’s too unreliable and I want to make sure my prints get to you!
3) To help mitigate the cost of shipping, I now do NOT charge extra even for large orders, everything is combined. If I need to use two envelopes to mail your order, you will only be charged for shipping once. *** Please keep in mind that if someone were to, for whatever reason, order bulk prints (like 25+ prints, we would need to discuss the details of shipping personally because then the packages begin to get very heavy but I’m happy to only charge you what USPS would charge and not a penny more for profit).
Other points of interest you should read:
International rates and domestic rates for prints are the same as the last run. I’m sorry to report that USPS rates are not great, so I’m at the mercy of the postal service to set these prices for domestic and international shipping.
These are for PRE-ORDERS. So, it will take approximately 6 weeks for your prints to arrive. Here is why:
1) You order the print from me. The print shop is open for 3 weeks before step two happens.
2) I order the prints from a print shop, which takes time to ship to me. Usually about a week.
3) I order packing materials for prints, which takes time to ship to me. Usually about a week
4) Everything arrives and orders are processed. Usually takes about a week.
Which put us at an approximate time frame of 6 weeks I keep my shop open for 3 weeks because, as many of you know, I don’t do this often. So I want to open it to as many people who want to order as possible.
Thanks everyone and happy shopping!
HEY GUYS!
Reblogging to remind everyone that this is happening and I’m closing up pre-orders on Friday (probably wont do another run until sometime between Feb-April).
So if you want to order one, get it before Friday :)
