So me and sporadicprince brought back our revolutionary girl utena to katsucon <3 we had so much fun!! We found another Utena and anthy that were just so cute!!
It was funny taking the sword picture in the gazebo cause gosh it that pose lokes SO MUCH EASIER THAN IT IS and this time i encouraged her to put her weight on me and i love how the picture came out <33
Because Sporadicprince got some heals for anthy she was taller than me and i was tipytoeing in a lot of pictures and saying “don’t take a picture of my feet” to most poeple who took pictures of us it was a very interesting day and The rose bride was giving me a lot of sass for my shortness >______>
Anywhos we had a lot of fun with our friends and in that cosplay! (i got to doll up sporadicprince a bit hehe <3) We can’t wait to bring it out for you guys again!!!

Seriously though, I always find it bizarre when people feel the need to tell you what you are. “You’re obese.” No way, really? I had no idea I was extra large, thanks for the reminder? Though in all honesty if you’re here to tell me I’m fat and you’re following me just to do so then I’m sorry that you don’t have anything else to do during the day then to tell fat people that they’re fat. I mean next you’ll tell me I’m black *gasp*

I guess it was a bit clever with the whole “eating yourself to death” bit, but I’m wondering if people just get their insults from a book that was written before cosplay even existed, because stuff like that has been said about cute chubby folks for ages. I’ve been called my fair share of names before I bestowed my large body with a hoop skirt and dress so reminding me of my juicy bits isn’t news to me, or to anyone on this page who follows me, but again if you feel the urge to shout FAT then just keep preaching to the choir around you, I’ll just keep wearing whatever I want and having a good time.

The only thing missing is the yellow piece but I really like this better. Man the wifey knows best <3

If you’re cosplaying just to be sexy then like… that’s awesome. Because you just spent weeks sewing and crafting, and/or a ton of money on materials/costumes and wigs to look awesome. That’s dope as fuck. You did something to make you happy and it’ll probably make a ton of people who see you happy. Because you know what, you are sexy. And you’re being sexy in some crazy ass geeky costume that you probably don’t even get to wear that often so rock it. Fuck anyone who gives you hate. (But not literally, because they don’t deserve you.)

Exactly this. If cosplay is about emulating characters you like, then it’s simply that: emulating characters you like. And it’s no big secret that some of these characters are skin tight wearing, big breasted, shirtless, water kissed skin from swimming, bikini top, high heeled, muscular, battle damaged, thong wearing, characters. It drives me nuts that there is so much support for cosplayers like me (black, plus sized) yet so much hate for the opposite end of the spectrum because “omg too sexy.”

Cosplay is cosplay. Period.

So remember that cosplay contest I entered on this cosplay page? Well, I won! Tiana got first place! I got my prizes and am super excited. I got:

1. A $50 gift card from Amazon

The adorable card was a nice little bonus, but yeah, I won a cosplay contest how cool is that?!

Let’s create a couple of scenarios.

Let’s say I decided to cosplay Catwoman. Someone might tell me, “You’re too fat to cosplay her” or “fat cat.”

All right, fine. Let’s say one of the women I follow, who is skinny, says they want to cosplay Catwoman. Except their black. Someone might tell them, “Catwoman isn’t black” or “Check it out, ghetto Catwoman.”

All right. Fine. Let’s say that another woman I follow, who is skinny, and white, says that they want to cosplay Catwoman. Someone might tell them, “That cosplay is too slutty” or “attention whore.”

This right here is why there’s no point in stressing about such negative comments. Same character in each scenario, only different levels of negativity. This is why, my number one advice, is to smile and cosplay who you want

Bonus scenario: So then you may start to envy the male cosplayers of the world, thinking that they must have it so easy. Then you see a picture of a male cosplayer with a caption like, “He tried, I guess?” Or even see statements like, “Male cosplay is so boring” “Superman really let himself go, huh?” “What’s up with this Wolverine?”

So, everyone? Smile, on the count of three: 1. 2. 3!
