Since everyone seems to like the woodburned tarot cards (thanks for the love btw!), I thought it would be cool to show the starting point.  I sketch the image on the wood with a pencil before burning it, so it basically… looks pretty plain ^^;;;  

I’ve been woodburning for like… two years now, I think?  I saw some really ridiculous amazing burnings at a convention once and one day, while on the way to the craft store, I thought, “I wonder if they have a woodburner.”  I figured that the method had to be something like, sketching the image then just burning it on there.  Over the years I started figuring out ways to do shading, how to make it darker or lighter depending on how much pressure I was applying, stuff like that.

Come to find out there’s burners you can buy with settings that change the heat, lol!  ^^;;;

So we all know how I feel about marriage equality, you know, since I’ve been with the same girl for 11 years.  I wanted to make something that shows my support.  And thus, this coaster was born  :)  

I’d love to do this to other anime/video game/awesome geeky characters, I just need ideas.  For now, Grell seemed like a most excellent choice.  Grell is woodburned onto the coaster, hair and glasses painted, along with the tape and the “8” in “NO H8.”

I’ve been woodburning all day, I figured I would show off some of the new things I’ve made.  It’s time for Persona tarot cards!  I’m not sure if I’ll get through ALL of the arcana (especially since some of the designs intimidate me), but I’ll do my best!

Here we have the Fool, the Magician, and the Emperor.  Sometimes, I paint parts of my woodburnings, but I’m not going to do that at all with these and sort of let the shading and the wood speak for itself?

I totally blame this clock on spikyhairjon, who posts random anime that makes me feel all nostalgic.  This time, it’s Cowboy Bebop’s turn  :)  This clock is of Ed with the hack symbol and silhouette painted on the glass.

Captain America appreciation post!  (including one parody coaster of if Mario were Captain America, har har  ^^)  Most of these items (the clock and shield most definitely) are available for purchase, while the coasters can be requested to be made.  I didn’t realize that I made so many Captain America things  ^^;;;

I’m not into Pokemon as much as I use to be, but I do have fond memories.  Specifically of the original Pokemon.  I wanted to make a clock depicting the starter Pokemon, because I’ve always liked these three  :)  Around the clock, for numbers, are pokeballs, and the clock itself is painted to look like a pokeball.

So the year is almost up and next year we have big convention plans.  This means we’ll be making lots of fun things, like mini plushies, and clocks, and coasters.  Taking suggestions on what series to make things from  :)  We’re starting now, because a lot of conventions are back to back and we need to have items ready  ^^

Any thoughts?

I’ve made plenty of Grell things (how could I not?!), particularly this clock.  So I wanted to make something different.  Somehow, I’ve rarely made Sebastian things, and I had an idea for a clock.  Something dark, and epic looking, to show how amazing Sebastian is.

… then my partner said, “OH!  You should paint him with a kitty!”

And then this clock was born  ^^;;;  

There’s only one true love in a butler’s life.  The soft paws.  The fine fur.  A butler needs a kitty!  This clock depicts Sebastian’s one and only passion, with kitty paws all over the edge of the clock.  The clock is available for purchase  :)
