One of the many things I love about traditional animation is the requirement that the animator really understand how objects interact in a physical space. This few seconds does a great job of demonstrating that understanding.

Wonderwoman has so much swag in this movie.

Oh damn, that’s some sweet animation. Maybe I should.. watch this movie.

This fight was my favorite part of the whole movie. Wonder Woman and Big Barda team up. Not sure who boarded it, but it looks like Lauren Montgomery’s work?

Jay Oliva boarded this fight sequence. It’s on his website. http://jayoliva.com And yes!! The animators did a top notch job!!

Thanks! Jay is amazing also!

I keep looking at this bit of animation: love the timing: how the leg twirls around the rope, but also the head movement is really nice. She’s not just staring, her head moves nicely with her upper body.

I remember watching this movie, seeing this part, and going, “Oh damn…” because I mean, just… damn.

So I finished a Young Justice woodburned coaster set this evening  :)  The main cast from the first season.  This set will be at this year’s Anime Detour in a month.  It’s convention crunch time, so I’m woodburning things like crazy!

Of course, I do take commissions as well, so feel free to send me a note or check out my Etsy store.

That moment when (a tragic Young Justice tale)

*clears throat in preparation of reciting this sad poem*

That moment when *takes a sip of water, and then, it begins*

That moment when you discover a new series.

And it’s pretty much flawless.

The characters are great, their interactions the right amount of serious and humorous, it’s all just superb.

You get hooked after the first episode and just have to keep going.

So, you do.

You’re proud of yourself for sharing this experience with friends, who also get hooked after the first episode, already looking up how much the dvds cost on Amazon.

Then you realize, “Hey, it’s only on season two, I’m not that far behind!”

Then you make another realization.

You can enter into this fandom without being terribly far behind.

You can’t wait to check out the fandom!  The fanart!  The fanfics!  Heck, you might even write a couple of fics yourself.  You already have your ships, your OTPs, your OT3s, and all that’s in-between.  Surprisingly, you even love the canon pairings in the show, and you can’t wait to look for arts, writings, headcanons, cosplay, you just can’t wait to jump right in!

So you step into the fandom, potato salad in hand to offer to the party.  You begin to check the posts on tumblr.  You can’t wait to offer your own contributions, headcanons swimming through your excited mind.

Then… you see it.

“There’s only two episodes left,” they say.

“I wonder how it’s going to end,” they say.

“I can’t believe it’s already over,” they say.

But… how can this be?!

You check to confirm that yes, it is indeed only on season two.  But gasp, all of the fans are right, it IS about to be CANCELLED!

But… b-but… but why?  Why?!

You drop the bowl of potato salad and watch it shatter on the ground.

“Why,” you whisper, lip quivering and eyes watering, “I just got here!”

Yes, indeed, that is the question.

Why?

The voice of reason so often comes from the crazy ones

This part, just, they’re in the middle of a crisis and… I love the animated DC movies, because the humor comes when you least expect it  :)

Made a good friend of mine a late Christmas gift.  She’s obsessed with Harley Quinn, so it only seemed logical to make her a Harley clock  ^^  I sort of wanted it to be a simple design, kept in black and white with the clock edge done in the colors of her outfit.  She ended up really liking it (yay!!!)

A new series of coasters in progress!  It’s hard not to love the characters Lauren Faust creates, why not have coasters that celebrate them!  The first coaster depicts all of the “Tough Girls,” – Rainbow Dash, Buttercup, and Supergirl.  The second coaster is for all of your giggles and sunshine with Pinkie Pie, Bubbles, and Batgirl.  The three series featured are “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic,” “Powerpuff Girls,” and “Super Best Friends Forever!”  The last coaster (still in progress) will be of all the lead characters (Twilight Sparkle, Blossom, and Wondergirl) to fit with the set of three characters :)

And, as always, check out the pages below for all of your home decor crafting needs  ^^

Somehow I just now discovered Young Justice (or rather, just watched it, I knew of its existence)  2 episodes in and it’s clear to me that I have to make a coaster set with the team.

Here’s the first two:  Robin and Kid Flash.

Superboy is already sketched and ready to be woodburned, I still need to sketch the rest of the team  :)

As always, the links below will guide you to my other works, store page, and whatnot  ^^

Sewn Together Reflections has some comic book themed items available at the shop, perfect for fans of the Joker, Bizarro, Captain America, and other iconic characters.  You can get them right on time for the holidays  ^^  And, as always, we do take commissions, so feel free to place an order  :)  There’s still time to get something before Christmas!  Just send me a note here or a message on our Etsy page!

Finished just in time for our local comic book convention.  Two of my favorite ladies in  the Batman universe: Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.  The side of the glass is painted with Ivy’s leaves, while the outside of the clock is painted like Harley’s outfit.

I had a lot of fun making this one.  I don’t usually make things for a comic book convention (this is the first one I’ve had a table at), so I’m having a lot of fun with these.  My dad is huge into comic books and I grew up in a house with lots of comics, so making this stuff is giving me this awesome feeling of nostalgia.
