The Inner Workings of a Chibi.

More pictures of Persona 4 Arena and just the Atlus area in general from E3.  There were red and yellow couches in the middle where you could sit that had free candy though blue couches would’ve just blew my mind, they still fit the color scheme though  As you can see, the walls were decorated with P4 Arena, and there was a giant T.V. overhead that played trailers to Atlus games (mostly Persona 4 related, let’s face it, the Atlus area was mostly Persona 4 con).

The badge holder has already been posted, so no need to post mine.

As you can see, there were also Atlus booth babes, which I thought was kinda cute (I didn’t expect there to be any) it would’ve been super ridiculously cool if they had Teddie ears or something.  The Chie picture, I was mostly trying to show the badge from Destructoid of P4 being nominated for best fighter.  It’s got tough competition with Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Street Fighter X Tekken for the Vita, and I’m not sure if they’re counting Injustice since it wasn’t playable, but from watching the demo they were showing… wow, just… fighters are REALLY making a comeback!

I played more P4 and I think I’m getting better!  I was amused when one of the boys asked if I played “these games” and I just kind of chuckled like, “Oh yeah,” then proceeded to beat the crap out of him with Chie, to which he was like, “Oh shit.”  I tried Naoto again and I’m at least learning to put her gun away, lol!  Chie is just a warrior though, I really, really like using her, but I’m the type that wants the small and fast characters  ^^  Kanji is still an unfair jerk, definitely the one where you think the attack is over then his persona comes crashing down to stab you with a lightning bolt.

There was this guy there who was really pretty amazing with Naoto, and we chatted about Persona 4 in general while fighting.  It’s really cool how each character’s intro sayings seem to change depending on who they’re fighting, it’s like, they REMEMBER that this group is a group of friends.  Kanji, of course, gets flustered around Naoto.  But hell, even YOSUKE says something different to Naoto compared to like, Chie or whatever, and his interaction with her is pretty limited in P4.  He actually calls her a “pint-sized detective,” which… yeah, he would TOTALLY call her that and get his ass kicked for it  I also tried the fight stick, which was fun too, but I’m use to sticks having six buttons and this one just has four.  But they really are the only four buttons you use, so that makes sense.

And yes, in the dub, that’s Johnny Yong Bosch as Souji/Yu.  I’m not sure what they’ll do for the anime, if they do anything at all, since him and Adachi are the same.  It’s kinda weird hearing Souji/Yu talk, not because it’s a bad voice or anything, but because as far as P4 dubs go I’m use to him being silent.  Now he has a voice!

Let’s Rock!

Had some friends over last night and played some Guilty Gear on PS2 (wow, awesome 2D throwback!).  Then, we moved on to play some BlazBlue with not Ky Jin and the gang ^^  Afterwards, I showed them some videos from Persona 4 Arena since they hadn’t played Persona before but have heard about the fighting game coming out so were curious.  I was like, “Think Guilty Gear with Persona characters, seriously,” and we had fun comparing characters (Chie has wicked kicks like Jam, Kanji’s brofist of DEATH for an Instant Kill, the antics of Faust Teddie, ect.)  I also got to be a spaz and point out characters, since I had one of my friends draw pics of Kanji and Naoto for me.

Me:  See!  That’s Kanji!  With the chair!

Friend:  Ah… AH!  Brofist of DOOM!

Me:  And that’s Naoto!

Friend:  I see, oh!  I recognize the hat!

Playing Guilty Gear and BlazBlue was pretty good practice for Arena, I think, though my friend completely kicked my ass  ^^;;;  I’m so out of practice!  I’m going to have to fix that before arena comes out, thank goodness Anime Iowa is before the game comes out so we can get together again and play  :)  We’ve already made plans to get together for Geek.Kon and play P4 Arena.  Huzzah for fighting game parties!
