Was she going to slap you because you never in any way made him gay in the actual books, taking zero risks/doing absolutely nothing for gay characters in literature, and only announcing your “authorial intent” afterwards for a cheap shot at looking like an ~ally~

^^^

Gay people are just normal people. We are not told about any of the Hogwarts professors love lives, other than Snape, and it would be completely out of character for Dumbledore to walk around telling everyone about his sexuality.

Did you want her to make him dress in glittery platform boots, a crop top, and decorate his office in rainbow flags to make it more obvious for you? Would that be enough of a stereotype to appease you people? Or what? Please tell me. I’d like to know how you think a gay character is supposed to be portrayed.

And did you miss the Grindelwald chapters in the ‘actual books’? Or was that also not obvious enough for you? Did Dumbledore need to whisper “always” wistfully in order for you to connect that he had romantic feelings for Grindelwald? Maybe you are American and need them to gaze longingly into each others eyes with awkward close ups of their fingers almost grazing each other that Hollywood thinks means ‘true love’.

It didn’t fit into his relationship to Harry to ever say “I’m gay”, and so it was not stated explicitly (you might have noticed the book was told from Harry Potter’s perspective).

The point is though, that he is a homosexual, well respected, powerful, and very loved wizard- and his sexuality doesn’t matter because no one else thinks it matters. a.k.a. no one care that he loves men, and that is wonderful.

OMG can I tell you a story?

I once wrote a story in my grad level writing class back in college.  And these two women get together.  And someone had a critic about it like, “Wait we weren’t told she was a lesbian,” “This came out of nowhere,” “It didn’t say she was a lesbian before this point.”  Even my professor said this.

And I looked at him and my class like, “Why does it have to be said?”  Honestly, you don’t start a story like, “This is so and so. They’re straight.  They like men.”  So why is it when it’s a gay character there has to be this big introduction like, “Hey just so you know this person is gay.  Just so you’re aware, o.k.?  They’re going to talk about liking people the same gender as them.  Because that’s what they like.  Actually you know what they don’t even have a love interest at all but they may make a comment about someone’s smile or something but just so you’re not surprised they’re gay o.k.?”

I’ll never forget that moment, because the way my class worked people wrote comments on your story and gave it back to you, and one girl wrote me a long message on the back of my story like, “Thank you for saying what you said.  Because I get tired of people thinking that if a person is gay it has to be this huge presentation.”  Because honestly, why does it have to be?  If a character is gay, maybe… they’re just gay.  Do they suddenly have to have a love interest?  Or talk or act a certain way?  How would Dumbledore act any differently with this tidbit of information?  He’s gay.  Yeah, that’s great.  What would you have done differently in the story?  Would he have announced it to all of Hogwarts?  Why do you think he has to do anything differently at all?

An art commission for my gay romance short story, “Press START to Play.”  These are the two main characters.  I am so incredibly happy with how this turned out.  I’m going to be making postcards for conventions and posting it wherever I can.  Seriously, this is more than I could ever ask for  :)  You know you have a good artist when they read the story and give you a game screen in the background without you even saying anything ^^

Guuuuuuuuuuuuuh my brain is in a happy melty place of pretty things.

I shall reblog whenever I see this….

Shit, yeah let’s just slow clap that one out.

quidam-noire:

Can we PLEASE STOP THIS SHIT.

I mean seriously. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for turning the crisis of teenage suicide into a trendy note-hungry opportunity to be a pseudo-humanitarians. NO. Stop. None of us need to reblog this shit. Yes, it will make my blog ugly because it’s TRIGGERING and trivializes what suicidal people go through. How fucking dare any of you use mental illness as a fucking meme and flood the dashboards of suicidal people with these poorly constructed posts!

FACKING STOP.

Whoa whoa whoa, no, that sure as hell is not why I reblogged it.  The GLBT community is something I care deeply about, something I’m part of (which I assume everyone on my blog knows).  I’m not going to sit here and say that, sure, some people might reblog/heart something just to sound like they care, or because it has a lot of notes, but that’s certainly NOT the case with me reblogging it.

Whether you think this shouldn’t be spread around or not is fine, but don’t assume that everyone who clicks that reblog button is trying to trivialize the issue.  This is a serious issue, and I for one feel like it needs to be shown.  We can talk about how serious bullying is until we’re blue in the face, but this post is one of the most effective post on the subject that I’ve seen.  Clearly, someone made this post to make a point, and I’d like to think that 500,000+ notes means that that many people agree.

As for mental illness, I’m not sure what the “mental illness” is here.  This is a kid getting hate for being gay, which I certainly hope that is not the “mental illness” you’re referring to otherwise you should unfollow me right now.  As for suicide, the point of this post is to show what those hurtful words can do, and it is something that happens.  I knew a kid in 7th grade who wrote us all a letter after he moved away, about being TERRIFIED about being gay, he thought he had some sort of disease, and was desperately trying to figure out how to “fix” it.  There are kids who feel like that, who get hate, and feel like the only solution is suicide.  I never heard back from that kid again, I have no idea what happened to him.  Back then, there weren’t a bunch of support groups to turn to, or posts like this for people to see that, hey guess what, your fucking words hurt.  Do you really want to take responsibility for an outcome like this?

So no, not all of us reblog to be “trendy” and the fact that you even think that of me… no, just no.

This is absolutely terrifying. Just look at it, it is so real and astonishing. You need to reblog this. I don’t care if you’re used to reblogging orange, teenage girls with vans on. I don’t care if you’re used to reblogging vintage or photography. This is real. You can even see the fury in his eyes. The tense muscles in between his fingers. The heavy breathing. reblog this. NOW.in all seriousness thoughM..my heart just stopped… ;~;Guys, you’ve got to reblog this. It’s reality and it needs to be brought to everyone’s attention.I lost a friend to this kind of harassment. I really don’t want to remind myself of everything that happened so I won’t say a word about it. All I will say is, he was one of my best friends and the kindest person I had ever known. The pain I went through after his death was indescribable. I want you all to know that it’s not easing knowing that someone you love had such thoughts that they didn’t deserve living anymore. I’m not good with words at all so please excuse this lousy paragraph I have attempted to write to move you. I am serious though. Don’t ignore this.i’m going to reblog forever. This kills me, please stop this.it seriously hurts to know people say thishow the fuck could you possibly send someone hate, or make rude comments when you know all to well that this could be the outcome, makes me sick. somebody please stop this from happening.

ALRIGHT STOP SCROLLING RIGHT NOW. REBLOG THIS. I DON’T CARE IF YOU ARE A HIPSTER, SUMMER, PHOTOGRAPHY, BOHO, SURF, WHATEVER BLOG. REBLOG THIS.

Oh my god

THIS MOVED ME SO MUCH GUYS REBLOG ;__; ;;;n;;;

((I DONT CARE WHAT KIND OF BLOG YOU ARE

REBLOG THIS))

If you don’t reblog this I’m judging you so hard.

Dude.. This is sick and down right wrong, people need to see what sending hateful things to others can do

i don’t think half the people on tumblr realize that there are real life people on the other side of these blogs. and people have feelings. when you send hate to somebody.. you aren’t sending it to a blog from another blog, its from a person to a person. and in america.. this is illegal. just know, your words hurt.. in person, in text, behind a screen, behind a smile. words hurt. more than some of you can imagine.

I think that one of the worst things about this is that I remember a while ago, there was a tumblr post asking people to reblog if they’d ever been bullied- and it got a HUGE response. And yet online, some of these same people do it to each other, just because they can. Because they can do it anonymously and not have to be held accountable for what they’ve done. I just. This baffles me. THERE IS A PERSON BEHIND THAT COMPUTER, DUDE. Maybe you think it doesn’t matter because you don’t know them, because you don’t see firsthand the pain you’re causing, but it fucking does.

There are no words, just, all I could think was, “Please don’t pull the trigger please don’t please don’t you’re worth so much more.”

Going along with this post here (particularly the second part).

Warnings:  GLBT, coming out

Inspiration:  I saw something that asked about the hardships people go through who are in the GLBT community.  There are two kinds of hardships, to me.  There’s the hate we always see, the slurs and bashing and whatnot, and then there’s the stuff that this piece is about.  Sometimes it’s the quieter words that are the most harmful.  A lot of times kids/teenagers are told that they’re “too young” to understand things when adolescence is, to me, the most judgmental time of a person’s life.

There’s times when someone feels like they get it and they’re flat out told “no” if it doesn’t fit “the norm,” that they’re “too young” and “don’t get it,” which I think, in a way, is just as damaging as the blatant ”in your face” hate because people don’t realize how harmful it is, they think they’re doing something good in saying such things, and a lot of times… they’re not.  The worst part is that they honestly do mean well, you know?  Parents mean well, they want what’s best for their children, so they honestly do think that saying such things is not only o.k., but necessary.

So, here’s my pieces, for now.  It’s ongoing and just me putting words together, really, that I might put together into a thing later.

1.  The thing about having it all is that, in reality, he doesn’t.

It’s an illusion, really, that other people see when they look at him.

For one thing, there’s no clear meaning as to what all even is, what constitutes it, and how one goes about obtaining it.  He gets the superficial meaning, of course — looks, money, popularity — but is that, really, all?

Despite this, whatever all is, he’s fairly certain that he wants to keep it — or so he’s told by everyone around him.  Apparently, he’s lucky to have it all, so lucky, in fact, that they wish they had it, themselves.  Therefore, he’d be a fool to let it go.

So he keeps himself locked tightly in his closet, safe, where he can keep it all.

2.   She wishes there was a handbook on who the one is and how to obtain such a person.  She hears her friends and family talking about it all the time, or rather, the female friends and family in her life.  What she knows so far is this: the one is someone she is destined to find, either by her own attempts or by sheer luck of the draw.  The one is someone she is supposed to desire, to the point of bettering herself to make herself appealing to the one.

But most importantly, the one?  Male.  Definitely male.

So I can only work on my super smutty story “Voyeur something” at home for obvious reasons, so I was working on it tonight.  I thought I would end the evening with a snippet since the first part of it is close to being done  :)

Summary:  A series of three short stories that all link together with one main theme: voyeurism.  If all goes according to my plan, this will (hopefully) be a book series.  I have like… two books planned so far, well… two and a half, with notes written in a notebook

Warnings (for this snippet):  M/M romance, voyeurism, sex, whispers of masturbation

Warning number two:  If you follow this blog for the sweet and cute headcanons, uh… skip this post.  Or hey, if you’re into boy smut, feel free?  please don’t leave I’ll go back to fluffy puppies and cookies and innocent things soonish!

Then they go to the wedding then they flame it, like, “I like the part with the two grooms, but why did they have to be gay?  I think Groom #1 would’ve been much better with the Maid of Honor, she was so pretty!  Next time, don’t make them gay o.k.?”
