The Inner Workings of a Chibi.

It’s Halloween, but I’m staying home because I don’t have a costume, so I drew Kanji Tatsumi as Pangoro (I’m sure everyone knows that Pangoro is Kanji trying to be in a pokemon game or vice versa).

For some reason, whenever I pet my Pangoro (whose female and is named Tatsumi obviously not on purpose) on Pokemon Amie, no matter where I pet, she looks like either she wants to cuddle with me, or murder me.

Enjoy!

CUTIE!

So recently Josh introduced me to Persona 4 (via the anime, I haven’t played the game yet) in the hopes that I would want to cosplay someone from it (I think he was hoping I’d go for yukiko), also because he thought I’d enjoy it*. While I really liked Yukiko’s persona (and have cosplay plans for her in the future), I actually really want to do a genderbent version of Kanji (because he is the best). Josh says he’d do a genderbent Naoto with me (though I have to figure out how that would work) for a casual day at a con (like an evening cosplay for dragon con or one day of nycc so we can actually see stuff).

Here’s my first musings/thoughts on how I plan to genderbend Kanji.

*and I did! sooo good! except he didn’t warn me that there’s a *real* downer section and I cried a bunch. Like “Grave of the Fireflies” sad.

Oh my damn this is perfect.

I wanna have a lazy date.

brichibiwritesthings:

A day where we get in our pajamas, get millions of pillows and blankets, buy a lot of snacks, make a castle, watch tons and tons of disney movies, and just snuggle together. And why not, we’ll have a pillow fight too. Just a whole day, spending precious time with you… I’d do anything just to have this kind of day with you.

“I fail to see the appeal of this.”

“It’ll be fun, I promise!”

Naoto sighs as she sits on one of the many pillows that have now bred across their floor.  There’s a stack of movies in front of her, old clamp shelled VHS cases that are completely obsolete.  Kanji insists that it’s the best way to have one of these kinds of dates, even if they’re both too young to know if that’s true or not.

“They do carry these same animated movies on blu-ray.”

“I know,” Kanji says, looking over the wires to the VCR he managed to rescue from one of the boxes in his mother’s storage closet.  "But this makes it more meaningful, yeah?“

"Is that even going to work on this T.V.?”

“Ain’t no reason why it wouldn’t.”

Except Naoto is right, as always.  The ancient video player has no effect on the flat screen T.V.  She doesn’t bother saying I told you so, already feeling bad for the sad frown on Kanji’s face.  ”We can still have our date,” she says, “We have all of the snacks and all of the pillows.  We can still do this.”

“I guess.  But what are we gonna watch?”

It’s not exactly an animated fairy tale, but there’s still plenty of romance between Raleigh and Mako to satisfy Kanji’s sappy heart.  The battle of jaegers versus kaiju is just an added bonus, one that Naoto happily watches.

Oops I thought this was a headcanon prompt sorry  ^^;;;

Hey look I still Kanji and Naoto sometimes  <3

I have a

MIGHTY NEED

for a non-H Persona 4 doujin in which the Investigation Team minus Protagonist go into the TV World (Post-Arena, pre-Golden Epilogue) to train and Kanji’s Persona turns back into a Shadow and harasses him about hiding his feelings for Naoto.

And his Shadow behaves like a ludicrously macho, smooth-talking lady killer that hits on Naoto endlessly.  Then Kanji is so embarrassed and shy that he rejects his Shadow and it goes berserk and the IT has to fight it and it ends with Kanji finally confessing to Naoto in front of everyone.

SOMEONE DO THIS

Only if smooth-talking lady killer Kanji has terrible pick up lines that actually sound suave because he is a lady killer, and Naoto doesn’t understand that they’re pick up lines and takes them seriously:

Kanji:  Did it hurt?

Naoto:  You mean our previous battle?  I suppose it did hurt a little, but we did manage to defeat the shadow.

Kanji:  I meant did it hurt when you fell from heaven?

Naoto:  Kanji-kun, you are fully aware that we did not fall from heaven.  We chose to jump into the television together, that is hardly falling.

Oh man everyone knows this is like my favorite Persona 4 pairing!  In fact, this is one of my favorite all time pairings.  Now I could go into a long, “Because they’re fucking cute,” rambling (but they totally are), but I want to go into my serious reasons.

I think they compliment each other in that, “So different but so alike,” sort of way.  Considering their back stories, I think they can relate. Kanji lost his dad, Naoto lost both parents.  Kanji was teased for liking girly things, Naoto went so far as to pose as a boy.  They’re use to being different from everyone else, so I think they could relate to one another.

Besides that, there’s also the appeal of, on the outside, Kanji’s a moron and Naoto is this analytical person.  At face value, they would never work.  But if you look deeper than that, you can see that they would work really well together.  Deep down they’re both misunderstood.  Deep down, Naoto doesn’t want to be alone, and Kanji just wants people to accept him.

I mean sure they interested me with Kanji’s crush, but it was when I got to Naoto’s dungeon that I really started to like them.  Mostly because Kanji just got her so well.  He said something really important then, something that definitely showed that he was more than the “tough stupid guy,” (though his dungeon did that, too).  It’s when she’s freaking out over her shadow and Chie is like, “No, don’t say it!”  And Kanji is like, “No, let the kid spill it, she needs to or she’ll keep hurting.” And in that moment it was like… wow, someone gets it!  I mean sure when you’re playing you’re thinking, “OMG DON’T SAY IT OR I’M GONNA HAVE TO FIGHT AGAIN!”  But, honestly?  You HAVE to face yourself.  You have to let it all out and face it.  (as a side note this is one thing I liked about the anime, how the characters were conscious when facing their shadows).

In that moment it was like, wow, Kanji not only really gets her, but he gets, well, the entire message of the game.  Before anyone did.  In a way he’s the most brilliant character in the game, to me at least.

And yeah after that the game sort of divulged into the “omg cute crush” stuff, but I never really forgot that one moment.  Like yes, this one-sided crush is cute but, omg, for that moment Kanji really, really understood what Naoto needed.  More than she herself did.
