And another great review

brichibiwritesthings:

My first five star review on my new book!  Here it is:

The first thing that struck me about Double Hue is that it is written in present tense, which always makes it difficult for me to really get into a story. However, the writing itself was good and somewhere halfway through the prologue I had been drawn in thoroughly and felt the pain of loss as the story of a young man learning that his lover had been killed began to unfold.

It got even better.

As the story description says, Gable learns that his boyfriend, Avery, has been killed, but every time he dreams, it’s as if time resets and Avery is alive again. Most of the first half of the story occurs inside the mind of this confused young man as he tries to determine reality from dream, while also trying to deal with studies for his final year in university as well as the issue of ‘coming out’ to his parents.

The narrative is artfully done so that the reader lives within the thoughts of Gable, feeling his uncertainty and struggling to determine what is real. I soon lost any sense of what tense the story was written in and was completely caught up in this dilemma.

Everything becomes very real about halfway through and the action increases to a fever pitch. There were times that I wanted to yell at a character “Why don’t you…” or “Check the computer history to find out..”, but these minor frustrations just show how involved I had become as I read. The parents might have played a more active role, but the artistry put into how the primary characters deal with the conflict more than makes up for any lack of activity from peripheral characters.

I read the second half of this book in one sitting, ignoring all the other books I had on the go. It was that engrossing. Easy 4.5 stars for this one.

WHOO!  This is a great way to wake up on Christmas Eve!

Calling all reviewers, bloggers, interviewers, and more!

brichibiwritesthings:

So my new M/M romance book came out this weekend, and I would love to get some reviews for it, some interviews, and all that jazz.  If you’re someone who reviews books and likes the M/M romance genre, send me a message.  I have copies I can give out to reviewers  :)  I would want reviews as many places as possible (Amazon, Goodreads, your blog, Barnes and Noble, ect. ect.)

Here’s a blurb of the book so you know what you’re getting into:

“Maybe he’s right. Maybe I am the cause of this. Maybe you were normal before meeting me.”

When something tragic happens, you want nothing more than to close your eyes and make all of the pain go away. For Gable Peterson it’s a little more complicated than that. When detective Maurice Ashford shows up at his door with news that his boyfriend, Avery Blair, has been found dead, Gable is left devastated. Seeking some sort of comfort, Gable closes his eyes and imagines a world where none of this happened.

Only, when Gable wakes up, he’s surprised to see that Avery is still alive.

Eternal Press  (need to be registered to get it since it’s adult)

Hey all of you book reviewers, are you interested in my new book?  Do you write reviews?  Do interviews?  Things like that?  Then message me  <3  If you like m/m romance that is full of weird supernatural “omg why can’t I just write a happy couple why do people have to suffer in strange ways that are out of this world” and “do you always have to have a geeky boy like seriously all the time I mean Kingdom Hearts is awesome but still” elements, then this may be the perfect book for you to review  ^^

brichibiwritesthings:

Hey everyone. Some bad news and some kind of good news. The book release has been delayed until November 16th. The kind of good news is that it looks like I’m still getting early release copies (at least in pdf, I get to read it over to make sure it all looks o.k.) which means I have a new idea.

I’m going to give away a copy once a week until release day, which means you’ll be getting the book BEFORE launch <3 I’m going to start this on Monday.  It will most likely be a pdf copy, since that’s what I got this morning. If I get another version I’ll let everyone know.

Since not everyone on Tumblr is part of Facebook (which is where the event is) I’ll do something different for Tumblr.  Just like or reblog this status to get a chance to win  <3  The first giveaway will be on Monday with another one being the following Monday.

Just to refresh your memory, this giveaway is for “Double Hue,” the M/M romance book I have coming out.  Here’s the synopsis:

When something tragic happens, you want nothing more than to close your eyes and make all of the pain go away. For Gable Peterson it’s a little more complicated than that. When detective Maurice Ashford shows up at his door with news that his boyfriend, Avery Blair, has been found dead, Gable is left devastated. Book giveaway stuff!  Plushie giveaway coming soon but for now here’s a book giveaway  <3  My book isn’t going to be out until November 16th now, so you’ll be getting it early :)

[Grave Impressions Contest Fic] Why can’t he?

brichibiwritesthings:

So there’s this great 1940s yaoi webcomic called “Grave Impressions“ that I got the first book of at ACEN this year.  The creators are great, and the story is really interesting so far.  They’re hosting a year anniversary contest, so I thought I’d take a crack at it  :)  And you should definitely read the webcomic!

Summary:  The most important rule of the one night stand is to not get attached to who you’re “standing” with.  Unfortunately, Napoleon is never one to follow the rules.

Notes:  I’m fairly certain it hasn’t come up in the actual comic, so I came up with a random story.

Warnings:  Yaoi, sexy times

I wrote a smutty thing for a contest thing.  It has been a really long time since I wrote fanfic so I hope I remember how to do the thing.

brichibiwritesthings:

Guess what, everyone?  It’s time for the release of my second book! The event is an online event, so you don’t have to go anywhere to attend, you just have to go to the page.  I’ve also decided that one lucky attendee will receive a free ebook copy of the book.  Huzzah!

Here’s a blurb for you:

Hey guys remember that time I wrote a short story for a gay romance anthology? I don’t mean to forget, honest, but with “Treat Me Kindly” and now “Double Hue” and soon “Hunters: Seeking the Storyteller” I forget to mention this little tidbit. So here’s a fun text message between the two main characters about video games and such (after the events of the story). Also, you can get a copy of the ebook for only $3, so if you’re into gay romance, or video games, or really really like me, feel free to check it out
